Hi JOY, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a creative career because I felt a deep calling to express myself in a way that went beyond the logical and analytical aspects of my past career in dermatology. While I was fascinated by the intricacies of the human body and scientific precision, I found that there was something missing—the ability to convey the deeper, intangible parts of the human experience. Music and multimedia art gave me the freedom to explore and communicate emotions, identity, and transformation. For me, music became a healing force that not only helped me understand myself better but also made me feel whole. It gave me a sense of completeness that I hadn’t found elsewhere. It wasn’t an easy decision to leave my previous career, but it felt necessary for my growth and authenticity. I wanted to create something that reflected my personal journey and resonated with others in an immersive and emotionally transformative way. That’s when I began blending art, science, and technology to craft experiences that evoke emotion and inspire change.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art blends electronic music, multimedia, and immersive experiences, allowing me to explore themes of human emotion, transformation, and connection. What sets my work apart is the way I integrate my scientific background with my creative expression, particularly through the use of cutting-edge technology like immersive audio and virtual reality. This allows me to offer audiences more than just music—I offer an emotional, multi-sensory experience.
One of my proudest achievements is the release of Who Am I, my immersive album, which encapsulates the journey I’ve been on. It’s not just a musical project but a testament to my commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with art and technology. It wasn’t an easy path—leaving behind a successful career in dermatology to pursue a creative path came with many challenges, both personal and professional. But I was determined to stay true to myself, and my resilience allowed me to keep going, even when the path ahead seemed uncertain.
The lessons I’ve learned are invaluable: stay curious, embrace uncertainty, and never stop evolving. My brand is rooted in authenticity, passion, and innovation. I want the world to know that my journey is about more than just creating art—it’s about connecting with others through the universal power of emotion and transformation. I hope to inspire others to follow their own creative paths, even when the road isn’t clear.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, we’d start by heading to the beach to relax and take in the beautiful coastal views. After that, I’d take them to explore the vibrant, creative energy of a few iconic neighborhoods—places full of art, great food, and cool local shops. We’d enjoy some casual meals by the water and discover hidden gems, followed by a visit to a museum or gallery for some cultural inspiration.

For a mix of fun and relaxation, we’d tour the city to enjoy the lively atmosphere, amazing views, and spots that capture the essence of the area. And of course, we’d end the day with a laid-back evening at a rooftop bar, soaking in the city skyline and enjoying good conversation.

I want to dedicate this shoutout to the SONY 360 Reality Audio team, especially Immersive Mixing Engineer, Kevin Woods. Kevin has been an integral part of my journey, guiding me through the complexities of immersive audio technology. His expertise and commitment have been crucial in bringing my vision for Who Am I to life. I’m also deeply grateful for the support of the entire SONY 360 team, who shared my passion for blending art and technology. Without them, the album wouldn’t have reached its true potential.
