We had the good fortune of connecting with Joy Weiser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joy, what do you attribute your success to?
Never Quitting. Finding a good teacher and being willing to experience life out of the comfort zone.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have carved my own career. With no representation, I sing regularly for many organizations and Private Events. I sing so many styles of music from Opera to Jazz, that I am always customizing my programs to the liking of my audience. I especially love entertaining for the Survivors of the Holocaust, and bringing music to their hearts.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
An Ideal day: We would go for a walk on the beach, Get coffee and pastries at Justa. Lunch at Destroyer. Visit the Korean Baths for Massages. Catch a show at the Music Center or Disney Hall. And then finish with Sushi at Sasabune

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, My Mom and Dad who encouraged me to sing from a very young age. All the voice teachers I’ve worked with in my life, especially my current teacher, Cathy Wallace. All my friends and family who have always supported me.
