We had the good fortune of connecting with Jules East and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jules, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I do that because I am an artistic and creative person. I know it’s not an easy path, one has to rise above merely surviving to do that.

I believe everyone is creative deep down, some do not believe that they are creative and artistic, a lot of them have no courage to pursue their artistic and creative dreams, some rely heavily on others,

As for me I think If one is born with a strong artistic streak and loves to create, he/she has to find his/her way, she has no other choices to be 100% happy and satisfied in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Jules East Productions LLC is a company I set up to make independent films of original stories, as I’m bored of Hollywood franchises movies and attempt to bring some new fresh ideas to the screens and digitally. To start everything from scratch is difficult, but I will take one step at a time. I hope through this publication, more talented artists and technical crews who would love to make more original and authentic films, genres ranging from thriller, horror, action to arthouse drama will know about my company and give me a hit. It is fun materializing a story or an idea into entertaining films, that’s my goal for Jules East Productions. You are more than welcome to approach me if you think you would like to be a part of what I’m making.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Francisco is the happiest city I’ve ever lived in. Of course if I have to be a little tour guide to someone who has never been to San Francisco, first of all, I would bring him/her to take some photos with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. There are many good places to take such photos, i.e. Crissy Field, Baker’s beach or even on the bridge itself. Hanging out in North Beach for the best pizzas and wines, shopping in Union Square, taking a stroll or even a little romantic boat ride in the Golden Gate Park, an evening cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge and a bon fire chat at night by the Ocean beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Artak Ozan has been a great help of mine in filmmaking. He learns fast and helps me relentlessly in my work. He is a great cinematographer. I can’t thank him enough. Without him, I wouldn’t be able to successfully produce two films that will be released this year.
