We had the good fortune of connecting with Júsef René and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Júsef, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks have been my saving grace and why I possess the perspective that I have currently. It allows you to gain knowledge of your capabilities and who you truly are. Experience, in this case, is the best teacher because of what you gain during the journey. You will never know what the possibilities are until you take a chance on yourself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It has been a lifelong journey to get to the realizations that I have come to now. Social media and google have both singlehandedly helped with connecting me with industry professionals and knowledge on growth within my business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place would be to Venice Beach Boardwalk in Venice, CA. It has given me so much solace and peace since I have discovered it here. The next place would be to Le Grand and Joey DTLA for some good eats and vibes. I would take them to Hollywood Blvd to see the sites and the walk of fame. I would also hike up to the Hollywood sign and the observatory.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out Doctor Hu and Matt Sparks of Lion Studios for helping me rediscover my passion for music when I moved to Los Angeles, CA. They always provide a safe and positive space to create amazing love-filled music. Recording there has changed my sound and outlet on music.
