We had the good fortune of connecting with Justace DeVine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justace, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand would be the collaboration between the creatives. Each individual talent contributes to bringing the shoot to life.. You have your muse or model, makeup artist , photographer, hair stylist , and wardrobe stylist or designer ; One talent can’t shine without the other to make the shoot complete. With one common end goal of creating visual art, success is born for all involved.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
SHEISDEVINESTYLES is a portfolio building agency. We work with beginners and vet’s in the fashion industry. We bring together Fashion Designers, Wardrobe stylist, Fashion Photographers, Models, Makeup artist and Hairstylist to create editorial photo shoots to help start or fill in their individual portfolios. The images can also be used for websites, comp-cards, social media post or wherever the creative talent desires. The most exciting part is if all involved agree,the shoot can be submitted to high end fashion magazines where their hard work has a chance to be seen all around the world.

Starting off was not easy at all , especially since I was just beginning. Seeking out the talent and getting them to agree to this type of arrangement was the hardest. Most people are like okay you’re doing this but what have you successfully done ? Or how much are you paying me? Etc. Honestly I had to sit them down and express how this is beneficial for everyone involved not just myself. Once the bigger picture was seen I was able to move forward and start actually putting together the different talent teams for projects.

I want everyone to know that my brand overall is a stepping stone and a great place to network.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend and I grew up together not too far from Los Angeles so we know so many different places to go. For those reading and haven’t been able to visit but dream of it would go like this: Breakfast or Brunch on Manhattan Beach
Hit LA’s Fashion District to do a little shopping
Head to either Venice Beach or Santa Monica beach to see the art work or roller skate getting darker and enjoying the ocean breeze and views.
Go back inside shower and change into our new clothes we bought and hit Good Batch Hookah lounge and have drinks with hookah.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would personally like to shout-out to my family without their undying support I wouldn’t be who I am today. Giving up is never an option with my family, we always strive to do our best and look good while doing it. I appreciate the things they have instilled in me.
