Meet Kacie Margis | Writer, Model, Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kacie Margis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kacie, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my work to make people feel less alone in their own stories. For someone, somewhere, to read my writing, or hear me speak and think, “That’s exactly how I’ve felt, but I never knew how to say it.” I hope my art serves as a mirror—not to reflect perfection, but to reveal the messy, beautiful humanity we all share.
I want to be remembered as someone who told the truth—not just the comfortable truth, but the kind that makes people feel seen. I want to leave proof that you can be both soft and strong, and that beauty lives in the small, ordinary moments most people rush past.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a storyteller across mediums—writing, visual art, modeling, acting, and speaking. My work lives in the in-between moments: a beam of afternoon light, the weight of nostalgia, the quiet truths we rarely say out loud. My debut poetry collection, Apartment 7, gathers those fragments into something people can see themselves in.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve navigated chronic illness, trauma, and the challenge of showing up authentically in industries that thrive on perfection. What sets my work apart is that it’s rooted in honesty—I share the unfiltered parts of life alongside the beauty, because both belong.
Through my writing and public speaking, I’ve learned how to turn personal experiences into connection points that resonate far beyond my own story. Modeling has been a different but equally rewarding form of storytelling—one where years of hard work have led to moments that still feel surreal. There’s a certain joy in getting a text from a friend who’s spotted me in a store window or on a magazine cover, knowing that behind those polished images is a long history of persistence, adaptability, and creative grit.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, we’d begin with smoothies from Juice Stop, walking to Capistrano Beach while the morning light is still soft and the surfers are just paddling out. The salt air, the rhythm of the waves—it’s the perfect way to settle into the pace of this place.
Another day would take us to Los Rios Historic District in San Juan Capistrano, where the charm is in the details— art shops, blooming gardens, and the hum of the train passing Trevor’s at the Tracks, where we’d have dinner.
There would be barefoot walks at Strands and Salt Creek, the curve of the coastline stretching ahead, and maybe a detour to Laguna for more art and something sweet.
We’d have to hit up Del Mar street in San Clemente for the farmer’s market on Sunday then we’d stroll down to the pier to eat our fresh finds.
But we’d always end where my heart feels most at home— at Pines Park, vegan ice cream from Orange County Creamery in hand, watching the sun melt into the horizon and the sky become watercolor. Here, life feels both slower and fuller, like the ocean itself is teaching you how to breathe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my best friend Shelby, who hosts the Chill Seeker podcast with me. She’s a constant source of encouragement and the most talented painter I’ve ever met!
