We had the good fortune of connecting with Kadesha Taylor Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kadesha, what inspires you?
I am inspired by life, the ebbs and flows, and the ability to experience life. Knowing that our situation is never permanent, and we always have the possibility to change, if you choose. It allows me to go with the flow of it rather than resisting its nature. Knowing that everything has seasons, just like our trees know when it’s time to let go of their leaves, we too have our seasons of release, sitting still and growing again. Life is beautiful, and although we experience its challenges, I’m able to draw inspiration even from those times because there are lessons in all of it, honing into and allowing your intuition to guide you through is the biggest inspiration of all. The insight and messages along the journey helping to propel you forward inspire me to keep going.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Innerhealing Well(ness) was started to help individuals who are seeking guidance on their spiritual journey. Who are interested in making a change in their life but not quite sure of the steps and tools to get there. I launched my first signature program Remember Thyself, an 8-week beginners’ course, that is 1:1 coaching, it guides you in the fundamentals of your spiritual awakening.
The Innerhealing Well serves as a community and space to re-affirm to individuals the remembrance of self. To get back to the remembrance of the divine being that you are. To embody it, to live, and to know that you can co-create the life you desire with Spirit/ the Most High/ the divine/ the creator. To know that healing is possible, healing is not linear it is a journey, to know that we have the power within ourselves to heal past the traumas we endured in life, it does not define us but there is power that resides there.
I am most excited to be of service to my BIPOC community and to advocate the importance of doing this healing work. I am most proud when my clients see the changes in their life, to see how their healing inspires their loved ones to start their journey, to see it spark the difficult conversations needed in families to heal generational traumas, them being comfortable in their authentic expression of themselves, their passions, making strides in their careers, etc. It brings me the most joy and fulfillment to be of assistance in their journey.
How did I get to where I am business-wise? Through trial and error. Taking risks and a leap of faith was the only way to get to where I am today. I learned so much from taking a leap of faith and moving to Houston from my native city of Brooklyn, New York. I learned so much about financial literacy from being a co-owner of a candle company. Starting it from the ground up and even moving on to helping others build their businesses. It wasn’t an easy journey, but you learn from your mistakes, and I went from being so fearful of failing that I’d never start to completely diving in and keeping going despite the failures. It gives you the wisdom the next time around to know what to do, what to avoid, etc. But the best gift through all of it was learning to trust me, to trust Spirit and the Most High in everything I do.
Sometimes our wildest dreams are also our biggest fears, and it is on the opposite side of fear that those dreams can come true. So, take that leap of faith, that change that you’re so afraid to make. Learning to take that risk despite what anyone has to say was the biggest lesson of all.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh! That’s easy, I created a long Houston list when I moved here of dope places and things to experience. With recommendations of dishes etc. I’m a foodie, so to name a few Travelers Table for dinner or brunch, Mezza Grille, Sugar room it’s a dope speakeasy, State Fare for their mimosa flights and frozen flights, Loch bar (the gumbo is so good!) and the Chef is from New York as well, Rooftop Cinema, if you’re a coffee lover then definitely visit, Brass Tracks, Kickin’ Kombucha, Wild Coffee & my fav The List and if you’re here on the last Mondays or second Thursdays of the month, visit them for their event LoveStoned one of my favorites and course catch the museums in Houston on a Thursday they’re free! But importantly the park check out this cool little park next to the Menil. Houston is known for its Sunday Funday so check out my list for all the hot spots for Sunday Funday.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Whew, this is a good one. I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my soul tribe, my community, and those who genuinely support me. Those who remind me of who I am and my worth and what I have to contribute to humanity matter. Who reminds me to use my voice and wisdom to help others. I don’t know where to begin, there are so many people to highlight. First my mother I love her so much, she’s taught me a lot from her journey and witnessing her, my father, my best friend Tishon for always being there for me and supporting me like no other, Michelle, Khalima, Nasi, Steven, Tori, Autumn, Chasse, Justin and most importantly my ancestors for giving me the courage to do this sacred work. It truly takes a village; they’ve all been there for me in various ways, and it never goes unnoticed. I love you all to the core of me.
My shoutout is for my growing community, it’s an honor to be of service to you all and create a space to help each of you on your journeys. To the community that makes me feel, felt, seen, and heard I appreciate you. Thank you for honoring the light in me as I honor the light in you!
