Hi Karen, what are you inspired by?
Smart people inspire me, people smarter than me. I love learning from people, especially people who have unique and different ideas and perspectives.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Magnolia Roots Marketing – where the power of a mother-daughter duo fuels a boutique digital media agency. Our heartfelt dedication lies in boosting your brand’s visibility, forging a lasting identity that empowers it to reach new heights. What sets us apart is that this is more than a business, this venture is a shared journey for Karen and Katie – a blend of passion, flexibility, and the joy of pursuing careers they love.
Our journey began with a clear vision to provide innovative and effective marketing strategies that drive real results for business. With research and experience, we were able to identify gaps in the industry that allowed us to position ourselves as a premier marketing agency. We invested in assembling a creative team of experts who share in our vision of prioritizing our clients success allowing us to build long-term relationships.
With 33 years of experience, the most important lesson I have learned is that marketing is flexible, and the ability to adapt is key.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many amazing things to do in this area. A quaint little town nearby boasts several wonderful bistros and cafés, along with an incredible ice cream shop where they pile the soft serve a foot high. Don’t forget the fantastic local coffee shops, perfect for a caffeine fix. A trip to the beach is also a must, where we can soak up some sun and dine at a delightful seafood place. We would definitely catch a play at one of the great community theaters. Sightseeing options are plentiful, with mountains, beaches, and big cities all within driving distance. To round out the week, a winery or brewery tour would be perfect.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to my business partner and daughter, who not only jumped in to build this business with me, but is a creative genius, I appreciate her perspective and I am delighted that we are on this journey together.
