We had the good fortune of connecting with Kateryna kulyzhka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kateryna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
its definitely ability to say “YES”, to be open to possibilities without doubting yourself, jump in it, and challenge your own self… but also ability to filter and say “NO”, be true to yourself, and appreciate your time and talent. It’s important to understand your goals, and see the bigger picture, see the person you want to become in the near and far future. And reach, push, dream bigger, even bigger…. that’s the recipe

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always been drawing, way before I learned how to write or even before I clearly remember myself, I remember mom showing me a drawing of a secret chest with treasures inside and a big lock on it, and I have no memory of any of this … talking about it, I have a pretty special relationship with art, I only draw when I’m happy, with myself, with life.. so as a human its impossible to be high on life 24/7…and just like that I have moments when I create and can make art non-stop, and there are some times that I don’t.

My signature is simplicity. I love clean, unbreakable lines. I draw people’s bodies because I think they are so beautiful. Even when I collect art I’m looking for a figure, I also love sculptures… faces don’t interest me much, maybe because I’m coming from the fashion world.
I’m proud to see how much developed and grown as an artist in the last 8 years, all the shows I did, and happy to have my collectors. It truly makes me happy to know that people around the world have my drawings on their walls, and in their lives, now they are bigger than me and living their own lives. i just did a show last week in NYC and it was a great success, I’m planning a couple more actually, it’s great i just wanna keep going and creating, on paper and in Meta, been playing digitally for more than a year now..u know NFT world, it’s so cool and new. I’m actually want to build a community with will exist in both reality and want to invite you in! It’s figurative sculptors and jewelry on the sandy beaches all over the world.. planning first in person event in NYC this summer…

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
definitely the beach, just created this 3d sculptor on the nearest beach.. u can move it play with it, take pictures. we would start with macchiato and chocolate croissants I master doing covid) drive to the ocean, stretch, read and swim, check on local lifeguards, and watch the wales. Next, drive to Chutney and get seasonal dosa and chai, stop by the library, and keep driving to Montauk, jump for another swim, watch surfers and stop by another cute local place, “Buongiorno bakery” everything there is so good, on the way back check Pollock house and Tripolly gallery and finish by watching the sunset at Sisi at springs … order all local seafood specials and make it to Sag Harbor cinema just in time for a film, they playing art films mostly…such a chick place…and the late-night snack Olafs icecream- must try strawberry ! after then I promise u the best dreams even, as u probably gonna crush on the last spoon on gelato ))))

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Life wouldn’t be the same without my husband and one of my closest friends, in fact, he was one of the very first people I met in NY back in 2009. He brings so much balance and support into my life, and up for all my crazy projects and ideas… he is my star
