Meet Kateryna Mykytiuk | Content Strategist, Visual Storyteller & Creative Director of The Flowers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kateryna Mykytiuk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kateryna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Honestly, the biggest factor behind the success of The Flowers is the content—and the love we put into everything we do. From day one, we’ve shared our work with intention, telling visual stories that people connect with.
But more than anything, it’s the passion. We love flowers, design, and making people feel something through beauty. That energy is what draws people in, and content just helps us show it to the world.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Flowers started as a passion project—a way to express beauty, emotion, and storytelling through floral design and content. What sets us apart is that we’re not just a floral studio; we’re a creative house. Every bouquet, every shoot, every branded piece is part of a bigger vision. We blend florals with photography, videography, blend with AI, and strategy to tell stories that people remember.
I’m proud that we grew organically, purely through content—no ads, no PR team. Just consistent, intentional storytelling and a lot of heart. That’s how we ended up working with amazing clients, from everyday romantics to celebrities (like Kardashians, Victoria’s Secret models, Eddie Murphy, etc.), and big brands.
Was it easy? Not at all. There were so many moments of uncertainty—especially starting over in a new country. But I trusted the work. I focused on doing what I loved at the highest level I could, even when the audience was small. I learned to adapt, evolve, and most importantly—keep creating, no matter what.
What I want people to know is: The Flowers is about more than flowers. It’s about beauty, yes—but also about courage, reinvention, and expressing yourself fully. Every petal, every post, every project carries that energy. And I’m just getting started.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, here’s exactly how I’d show them the LA I love — calm, creative, beautiful, and inspiring.
It wouldn’t just be about sightseeing, it would be about soaking in the energy, the light, and the slow magic that makes this place home.
Day 1
We’d start with coffee at Pedalers Fork and a peaceful morning walk around Calabasas Lake. Lunch at King’s Fish House—fresh seafood, cozy vibe. Then a relaxing afternoon arranging flowers or lounging in the garden with tea and music. Easing in.
Day 2
Morning hike at Solstice Canyon, followed by brunch at Malibu Farm. We’d spend the afternoon at El Matador Beach, watching the waves and catching golden hour. Maybe explore Malibu Country Mart before heading back. Slow and scenic.
Day 3
Matcha at M Street Coffee in Sherman Oaks (my go-to), then head to Silver Lake to explore shops and galleries. A stop at Hauser & Wirth or The Broad always sparks ideas. Lunch at Bottega Louie, of course—it never misses.
Day 4
A full beauty day: facial or treatment at Burke Williams, massage and recharge at the Korean spa, maybe a little sauna time and journaling. In the evening, we’d head to Sugarfish for a clean, perfect sushi dinner. Nourished, rested, glowing.
Day 5
Morning stroll through Abbot Kinney, vintage shops and cute boutiques like Burro. Chill beach time in Venice, grab lunch at Gjusta (salmon roe bagels are the best), and explore the little hidden corners that make the area feel so alive. Easy, eclectic, inspiring.
Day 6
We’d head to Redondo Beach, walk the pier, and dive into a seafood feast—oysters, sea urchins, the works. After lunch, we’d go whale watching—one of those humbling, beautiful experiences that makes the day feel cinematic. End with a beach stroll or visit to a seaside market.
Day 7
Start the day at Le Labo, discovering scents and making memories. Then spend the afternoon exploring the Arts District—street art, small galleries, creative shops, and a cozy bite at Zinc Café or Bavel. It’s the perfect ending: light, inspiring, and full of character.
This version of LA is the one I love most—rooted in beauty, creativity, connection, and space to just be. It’s not about rushing. It’s about remembering who you are.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people and moments I’m grateful for, but if I had to choose one shoutout—it would go to the creative women around me. Friends, clients, artists, florists, stylists, and producers who inspire me every day just by being bold, sensitive, brilliant, and unapologetically themselves.
Also, a quiet but powerful shoutout to all the books, podcasts, and solo walks that helped me rebuild from scratch more than once. And to my best friend, who always believed in what I was building—even when it wasn’t clear yet what exactly that would be.
No creative journey is solo, and mine definitely wasn’t.
