Hi Kateryna, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
By transforming hair colors and styles, we help individuals feel more confident and empowered. This boost in self-esteem can positively affect their interactions and overall mental health.
Hair is a canvas for self-expression. Our work allows clients to showcase their unique personalities and identities, fostering a sense of individuality and creativity within the community.
Our studio Zelenska Beauty serves as a safe and inclusive environment where people can come together, share their stories, and connect. This sense of community can strengthen relationships and encourage support among clients. As a local business, our contribute to the economy by creating jobs, sourcing products from local suppliers, and attracting clients who may shop or dine nearby. Through our artistry, we can inspire clients to embrace change and new beginnings, whether it’s a new hair color or a fresh outlook on life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Kateryna Zelenska, and I am Ukrainian. I’ve been working in the beauty industry for over 10 years. I created Zelenska Beauty Hair Studio in Beverly Hills, California.

I am proud of what I’ve achieved because I didn’t even think, three years ago, that I would have my own cozy space in the heart of Beverly Hills. That seemed impossible for me, but as we say in Ukraine, “Who doesn’t risk doesn’t drink champagne.” When the war started in Ukraine in 2022, it forced me to change my life. I took a risk, and I don’t regret anything!

Starting from scratch is always a challenge. I would call myself a woman in action because if I have something in my mind, I have to get it, whatever it takes. I believe my professionalism and persistence have brought me to where I am now!

I’ve learned to never give up and to work hard, studying a lot to move forward. My main principle at work is the quality of what I do, and my clients know this. I always wanted to be a successful hair colorist, and I have achieved that. I work with all the trendy coloring techniques, famous brands, and I have amazing clients! My secret is that I truly love my profession.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As I said earlier my studio is located in Beverly Hills this place has plenty of restaurants and places to visit .
Just across the street of my studio Mr Brainwash Art Museum I would recommend it to visit and deep down into the art .
Beverly Dr has a great places to eat I would definitely go to Avra Mediterranean restaurant to have a lunch. Alfred is the place where you can enjoy the best coffee in the area but if you’re matcha lover I would recommend to go to Cha-cha Matcha .
Everyone knows about Rodeo Dr street with luxurious shops you can find all world famous brands just in one street so must have to visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Denys always supports me, and his unwavering belief in me has been a cornerstone of my journey. From the very beginning of my career, he was right there by my side, encouraging me every step of the way. I vividly remember those challenging moments when self-doubt crept in, and I felt overwhelmed by the obstacles in front of me. During those times, Denys was my rock. He always knew how to lift my spirits and remind me of my potential, using his words of encouragement to reignite my passion.

With his support, I found the strength to push through the hardest days. I knew that giving up was not an option; I was determined to become a professional in my field. That determination fueled my ambition and helped me focus on my goals, no matter how distant they seemed. I invested countless hours honing my skills, learning from every experience, and embracing both successes and failures as opportunities for growth.

Finally, after years of hard work, perseverance, and Denys’s steadfast support, I achieved my goal. The feeling of accomplishment was indescribable, and I couldn’t have reached this milestone without him. Our shared journey has not only strengthened my resolve but also deepened our bond, proving that with love and support, anything is possible.
