We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathryna Dang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathryna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always wanted to have my own business, but for a long time I was honestly so scared to take that leap. But here we are — I took the risk, and I have loved every bit of it.

I have always been passionate about fashion and the confidence that comes from finding something you truly feel good in.

Starting SHOP KATHRYNA DANG was my way of sharing that feeling — creating a space that feels personal, inspiring, and approachable.

My goal is to curate pieces that are effortless yet elevated and to build a brand that encourages women to express their individuality. It has been so special watching it grow into a community of people who connect through style and confidence.

What should our readers know about your business?
I worked as a wholesale sales rep for over 12 years, and that experience taught me so much about fashion, customer service, and what it takes to run a successful business. During that time, I had the pleasure of meeting so many successful boutique owners who inspired me to pursue my own dream — to build a space where everyone feels welcomed and inspired by style.

SHOP KATHRYNA DANG has only been open for seven months, and I am still learning every single day. I love hearing feedback from my customers because it helps me grow and better serve them.

We proudly offer a curated selection of clothing and accessories for Women and Children, making us a true “one-stop shop” for fashion. But beyond style, our goal is to create a warm, stress-free shopping experience where everyone feels seen, valued, and confident.

What sets us apart is our passion for simplifying the shopping experience through personalized service and carefully chosen, trusted brands. Every piece in our shop is selected with care, so our customers can feel their best — inside and out.

I am most proud of the community we have started to build, and I am excited to continue growing, learning, and sharing style that empowers people every day.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I would make sure they got the full Rancho Cucamonga experience! We would definitely start at my store — doing a little shopping, sipping, and catching up. Then would head over to the brand-new Sancity Hotel right across the street. Their restaurant and bar, Durango, has such a great vibe — perfect for grabbing delicious food, drinks, and enjoying the ambiance.

We would also have to check out Fogo de Chão, which is opening down the street — I mean, who doesn’t love a Brazilian steakhouse?

The area around my store really has it all. Grocery stores on every corner, amazing local eats, and Victoria Gardens is just down the street. Rancho Cucamonga has so much to offer, and I would make sure my friend got a little taste of everything — food, drinks, shopping, and soaking up the energy of the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest shoutout goes to my husband, Yung & my son, Masen — my support system through it all.. I could not do any of this without them. Yung has been by my side through every high, every low, and every moment in between, always believing in me, even when I doubted myself.

And, of course, my mom, Diana. She passed away on Christmas 2023, but her love, guidance and strength remain with me every single day. She raised me to be fearless, to take risks and to give my all in everything I do. I miss her more than words can express, and everything I have built is a tribute to her — I hope I’m making her proud.
