Meet Katrina Manning

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katrina Manning and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katrina, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I don’t just think of risk as something to manage; I see it as a necessary part of growth. To me, risk is not about recklessness; it’s about courage and not being afraid to fail. Every bold move I’ve made, from running for City Council to starting a small business, came with uncertainty. But I never let the fear of failure outweigh the possibility of impact.
What drives me isn’t the fear of failure — it’s the fear of regret if I don’t try.
Additionally, I believe risk holds lessons you can’t learn from comfort zones.
Launching my apparel and shoe charm brand or entering the real estate world as a probate specialist were calculated leaps that challenged me to grow in new ways.
Each time I’ve taken a risk, I’ve either gained success or wisdom, and both have moved me forward. That’s why I embrace risk as a tool for transformation, not just in my life, but in how I lead and serve my community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Councilwoman for the City of Hawthorne, I’m also an entrepreneur dedicated to building my brand that empowers and inspires.
One of my newest and most exciting ventures is Blingifly, a lifestyle brand that’s cute, fun, and full of personality. We sell stylish shoe charms for Crocs and gym shoes, and we’re thrilled to be launching our apparel sports line as well. Blingifly is all about helping people feel good from the outside in. We believe that when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you show up as the best version of yourself, even on the tough days.
Blingifly is more than just fashion — it’s a form of empowerment. Whether it’s a charm that makes you smile or a hoodie that makes you feel powerful, our mission is to help you celebrate who you are and how far you’ve come.
My drive comes from a desire to make a difference, not just make a mark. I’m not building just to build — I’m creating with intention. I want every person who encounters me or Blingifly to feel uplifted, inspired, and proud of who they are.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned:
• “Trust your gut — it rarely leads you wrong.
• Rejection is just redirection — a detour toward something better.
• Failure isn’t the end; it’s part of your growth and your research. Every misstep teaches you something vital for the next step.
What I want the world to know is this: Blingifly is more than a brand — it’s a movement. It’s about joy, identity, confidence, and walking in your light. Through my work in business and public service, I’m committed to helping others rise — and reminding them that by God’s grace and love, anything is possible.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For breakfast, we’d head to The Grove and eat at Marmalade Café, a cozy favorite with great energy and the perfect way to start the day. Afterward, we’d get our beauty fix at Dlashes in Beverly Hills — lashes, glam, and self-care to feel our best, followed by a relaxing massage to reset and recharge.
We’d head to Venice Beach to enjoy the iconic street performers and free entertainment that make the boardwalk so unforgettable. Then it’s off to Del Amo Fashion Center for a little retail therapy — one of my favorite places to shop and unwind.
For dinner, we’d enjoy the upscale vibe and delicious flavors at Javier’s in Century City, followed by coffee and dessert at The Cheesecake Factory in Beverly Hills. To walk it off, we’d take a breezy sunset stroll at Santa Monica Beach — peaceful and picture-perfect.
No trip to L.A. is complete without exploring the legendary Hollywood & Highland district — from the Walk of Fame to the iconic views of the Hollywood sign. And if timing lines up, we’re definitely catching a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, one of the most magical open-air venues in the world.
Later, we’d kick back at Cosm in Inglewood for a chill evening, then head to Universal CityWalk for dinner and a movie. We’d also make time to laugh out loud at Chocolate Sundaes at The Laugh Factory — always a vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people to thank, but I want to mention just a few who have made a meaningful impact on my journey.
First and foremost, I thank God — His grace and love have carried me every step of the way. To my husband and daughter, thank you for being my rock and my reason.
A special thank you to Assemblywoman Tina McKinnor for opening the door and introducing me to this space of politics — your belief in me means the world.
To my Aunt Wilimae Boyd, thank you for your unwavering support through the years. And to my close friends — you know who you are — thank you for always being there when I needed you most. Your love and loyalty never go unnoticed.
This journey is not mine alone. It’s built on the foundation of faith, family, friendship, and community. And by God’s grace and love, I will continue to walk in purpose and give back tenfold.
