We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayden Tokarski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayden, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Several people I know think that getting an audition or callback is easy. Getting an audition is a gift and a callback is a celebration even if you do not book the role because you booked the room.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am so grateful and fortunate to be a working actor. It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was 4 years old, but my mom didn’t want me to get into the field at that time. I kept asking every year and then everything changed when we saw an amazing opportunity to audition for a role in The Joyful Child Foundation’s “Be Brave, Be Safe” educational project. This amazing foundation helps to keep kids safe from predators and being on set for the project really sparked my interest in acting. I was fortunate to be signed with Sueanne Edan of Tangerine Talent and then started taking acting classes and auditioning. In 2020, I landed my first leading role in an independent feature film called “Apocalypse Love Story” shot during the beginning of the pandemic. This industry, however, is so very competitive and includes a ton of rejection. I try to stay as positive as I can and keep moving forward but it’s really hard at times.

Since that first feature film, I have been fortunate to be cast in several films, commercials and — my biggest role to date – a co-starring role in a huge series called “Gaslit” streaming on Starz. That is my dream come true role. I play a young Julia Roberts’ character (Martha Mitchell) in the third episode of “Gaslit,” which also stars Sean Penn, Dan Stevens and other amazing actors.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Birria Los Socios at 3544 E 3rd Pl. in Los Angeles is my go-to place for the best birria tacos when I am in town. I also love Santa Monica Pier and beach! It’s my favorite spot … rides, so many restaurants and fun at the beach. You cannot beat it. I also love to see concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in the Hollywood Hills. It such an amazing place! Of course, the Walk of Fame is my favorite and I am hoping to see my name their one day!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am so grateful to have the most amazing talent agent, Sueanne Edan of Tangerine Talent. She took me under her wings when I had no experience and has been such an important part of helping me to grow in my career and life. I am incredibly grateful to her and my manager Heather Bragg of Established Artists. Heather is the best manager on the planet! Also my acting coach Michelle Tomlinson is the best in the business!
