We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Greene and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I feel that risk play a major role in your life. Without taking risk you can’t say that you tired because you never took a risk to see how it plays out. Learning how to balance my work life with my home responsibilities while trying to model was a great battle. I had to weigh out my options on making a huge decision to travel for modeling. At the time I wasn’t making a lot of money , my mother and I made enough to get by but not to just get up and leave whenever. Therefore I saved money from 3 paychecks to help support me get from the New Orleans all the way to los Angles California. I told myself no matter what happens I will make sure that I put enough effort in. Therefore I might not walked away being a top model overnight but I gained a lot of knowledge and gained a relationship with others in the industry.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a very creative imagination that is trying to bring to life to speak in my photos. Through pain and suffering my goal is to run my own successful business to encourage others like me who deal with health issues. At this point in life I’m still evolving and learning to love myself. I continue to focus on how blessed I am so that I can get through challenging times. I most definitely have to take it day by day. I want the world to know that I am a strong advocate of not giving up.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I would most likely take them to the coastal are of where I live. There is a top satisfied restaurant called shaggy son the beach that serves delicious food. Also I would love them to visit our famous casino with the games arcades that we have. There is also a race car drive area and it’s a best go to spot for adults and kids to test your racing skills.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For years I was groomed to go to school to become something successful in life like a doctor , lawyer & etc. I had a passion for medicine just like my grandma who inspired me. As time went on she became sick and struggled with her health . Before she past she always said to keep working and always have options. I started out modeling at the age of 13 and battled with my own conditions even until now . My health became so bad I was hospitalized and couldn’t walk. My confidence was suppressed and I still have physical imperfections from the past. Now I’m still staying strong through rough times and focusing on becoming a role model for those to love themselves and their imperfections.
