Meet Kayla Lofaro | Founder & Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Lofaro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kayla, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I opened up Discotheque with the intention of creating a safe space for all walks of life to come in and get their hair done and feel good about themselves. Its a fun, positive energy that could only be understood when you walk in the salon.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a hairstylist is the greatest job in the world. You make people feel good for a living, what’s better than that? Opening up Discotheque was specifically geared to create a safe space for stylists and clients to just feel good while being themselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have a laundry list of places to feel good in the city! But, since I opened up a “disco inspired salon”, I have to shout out KISS KISS BANG BANG for the best night out you will have! Drinks, dancing and disco… sign me up.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my sister, Katrina. She is the most resilient and creative human I know. To open a small business in a HUGE city, you have to be creative and also strong. There will be barriers you must overcome and I channeled my sister every day. Her art is showcased all throughout the salon, as well.
