We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaylei Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaylei, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue I career surrounding art because from a young age I loved to draw, paint, and write. I was always a visual learner so for me art was something I was able to understand without too much explanation. Learning about the different art styles & artists & even the different aspects that make up art is something I’ve always really loved. From music to visual arts to paintings I’ve always been interested in those things. I took art classes in school, I even took music classes Orchestra 2 Years, I played the violin. I learned so much through these things that I never really understood until I got older. Trying to figure out what I wanted for myself in the future, what career do I really see myself happy in for the rest of my life. I started to think about all the different people who had gone to college, or who had did a lot of different careers that they weren’t really happy with. I knew that I wanted to be happy in the career I actually decided to pursue, that’s when I began to think back on all the things I’ve really loved to do since a kid, that was ART. I realized that everything I really loved since begin young was artwork, writing, dancing, using instruments to express things to others & even teaching things to others. That’s exactly why I started with fashion so everyone can create there own art style through my clothing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
LA Kulture Klothing is a clothing brand that represents all the different styles & cultures that make up Los Angeles. LA Kulture Klothing is streetwear for everyone literally if you live(d) or know about Los Angeles you can relate to some pieces of clothing I design. Minimalist , Colorful & Exotic, Chaotic Graffiti, Black, Hispanic, Asian everything in some way or form I try to include everyone, all genders, ages, etc.
I would say my most proudest moment so far would be actually turning LA Kulture Klothing into an official Incorporation with California Secretary of State, along with getting my business license. I learned how to do all of this on my own doing my own research based on what was best for my brand, using TikTok & YouTube. I honestly wouldn’t say the journey was easy, but it definitely wasn’t difficult once you actually start to move forward & be willing to learn from your mistakes it’ll will be much easier. The hardest part for me is staying motivated and not procrastinating, self sabotage from doubting my self so staying confident & consistent is a big role in it all. Through out my journey day to day I learned to stay consistent & have confidence. It’s okay to listen to others opinions but always listen to yourself. While you do want to satisfy customer or gain attraction from others you should also stay authentic and organic to your brand.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to Black on The Block an Organization that promotes and encourages thousands of Black owned businesses, creators, entrepreneurs, artists, & professionals. Hosting multiple festivals across the United States to help others grow and get recognition for their work. Black On The Block isn’t just an event or marketplace it’s a curated immersive experience to the different cultures and communities. Their focus is to elevate and uplift the future of black entrepreneurs and that’s exactly what this event did for me. Just by being at the festival to experience such great talent inspired me to want to push my brand more, the experience helped me to see what it takes to successfully run a business/brand. Introducing me to other entrepreneurs of similar backgrounds & to the ones of diverse backgrounds, helping me to see different perspectives of entrepreneurs. Not only did I meet people but was able to be inspired by others while also critiquing myself so that I can be better.
