Meet Keep it Clear | Alexa Eisner & Natalie Stone (Creators of Keep it Clear)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keep it Clear and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keep it Clear, what matters most to you?
The world is a wild ever-changing place – amidst so much unknown we all crave transparency. And yet we fear it or lack tools to facilitate it. Open dialogue and authentic expression are key to real connection and intimacy. That’s why we are called Keep it Clear, because we want to clear out all the unnecessary “stuff” – people pleasing, busyness, spiritual bypassing – that gets in the way of growth and meaning in this life.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Keep it Clear was born out of the pandemic era. At a time of global flux and with social anxiety on the rise, we felt everyone could use a bit of support and clearing. Big picture – we wanted to design a container for integrating our individual and collective experiences. We’ve been long time friends perpetually in creative sync, and we recognized an opportunity to join our respective work and shared practice of tarot. Merging Alexa’s text-based art with Stone’s experience design, Keep it Clear is a creative tool for building better relationships with yourself and others. A hybrid of both an oracle and prompt deck – the cards can be used in private and social settings. Card themes are informed by contemporary social and cultural issues with a focus on equity. A little less woo, and a little more you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s talk East Side vs West Side.
East Sider Alexa suggests bopping into a yoga class at Kinship in Highland Park. Grab a coffee at Colombe and walk along the LA River in Frogtown. Go see some great art at The Broad, MOCA, Hauser & Wirth, or ICA. Then enjoy a French meal at the unassumingly chic Oriel in Chinatown. If you love a dive bar and vinyl, head to Footsies. If feeling moody and otherworldly, try an elixir at Apotheke.
West Sider Stone suggests picking up a game of “live ball” at a Palisades tennis court and making eight new friends. Speaking of new friends, head to Space Art & Supply to see some folk art and work on a puzzle with curator Genevieve. For dinner, vinyl, and some natural wine – head to Dudley’s for line-caught fish and the best burger in town. Finish off your night with a bonfire over at Topanga Beach.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When we decided that our Keep it Clear cards should be printed on clear plastic – and that plastic should be recycled and produced small-batch locally – we quickly realized it was no easy feat. Everyone said produce in China. One printer literally had to dump us. Luckily our friends at Atwater Art Co introduced to us to small local artisans Serjik and Silvana Zadoorian. This husband / wife team individually screen prints each set of 28 cards with such attention, care, and patience. The result: an environmentally friendly art object. Thanks Serjik and Silvana.
