Meet Kelli Brock | Trailer Editor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelli Brock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelli, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Pursuing a creative career was never much of a choice for me – it was the only thing I’d ever do. Growing up, I had very little motivation to do anything but make silly YouTube videos in my bedroom. I enjoy all the steps of creating digital content, but editing always sparked something in me. As I see it, it’s the most creative and exciting part of the puzzle. Once I learned that I could turn that into a career, everything fell into place.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The scary part of this business is how competitive it can get, but I’ve learned to just focus on my own track and do the work that feels true to myself and my style of editing. It reminds me that even when I have to take some Ls, the wins become so much sweeter.
Getting to the place I am now took a lot of hard work, talent, and luck. With that said, I think the most important thing is to stay ambitious and kind to everyone else on the ship.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Okaaaay, I love this question. First off, some great daytime activities would include hitting the Hollywood Farmer’s Market, thrifting around on Melrose Ave, and laying out at Barnsdall Art Park. I also love hiking and playing tennis in Griffith Park.
The LA food scene is impeccable, so I’ll break it down to my tops. Fav coffee shops are Standing Egg and Project Bloom. Great spots to eat are Jon & Vinny’s, Bacari Silverlake, and Taqueria Frontera. And lastly, the bars: Honey’s, Alma’s, Thirsty Crow, and Surly Goat are my personal favs!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been fortunate enough to come across some amazing people who have not only influenced my career but my personal life. I’ll always give a shoutout to Neal Bennett and Darius Barati – two mentors who taught and really inspired me. And most importantly, all my best friends who continue to be my biggest support system.
