We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenneth Cartel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenneth, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me success is a energy flow that brings me joy, happiness, in which it push my life forward and it benefit off my life for my highest good, especially when it is attached to a goal. It can also be something so simple that is deem as successful. So understanding my own success energy I apply that to my day to day life. I’m also practicing being appreciative / grateful. I’ve learned that from my mom when I was younger, it makes more since when you get older. That’s one way how I’m able to have abundance in my life. Also success can also be from learning from your mistakes, losses, and failure.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I express my art through at the moment music and ecological design. I’ve been always into music since I was a kid. I would say my first exposure to music was when my mom played “Lovers Rock by Sade (Album)”. That album really open my ear. Bob Marley, Mahalia Jackson, John Coltrane, OutKast, Kanye West and Pharrell was a influence for me growing up in that order. Since my mom from Jamaica growing up was different because our heritage energy is different compare to being from America. She taught me to write and that helped me start off my imagination and creativity. I would create stories, poems, and songs. I started playing alto saxophone in the 5th grade, I was into jazz and thought it would be cool to learn. During that time I was also into sports. I love football. I knew a day would come when I would I had to choose. I chose Music, long story short. I also learned playing piano while being in the marching band in high school. Around the age of 14 I started to learn how to make beats. My older brother told me about a software that could do that. So I started off with FL Studio and ever since then It was history. I stopped writing in elementary and middle school because I was in a Christian Private school and they would stop us from being creative unless it’s by there religion.I started recording. I produced for several artist for years from 2012-17 but always felt like I had something to say. At least express to myself. So I started to record myself in 2018 and started to craft my skills. And now we are here.
I have my own Company entitled “School of Mysteries*” . We are a ecological company that focus of providing services and designing products to help raise humanity vibrations. What set me apart is i’m true to myself and heritage/culture.You can say my brand and I is spiritual and scientifically based company. I’ve learn through my spiritual journey that that is the honest and true way you will be happy. Was is it easy? of course not, but the universe, my ancestors, and higher self always sending me little clues and cues. Most of my challenges I had to face with I had to learn to actually face what ever is heading my way but also be calm because when it’s all over it wasn’t even a challenge , per say. Some of the lessons I’ve learned was to overcome my fears in losing love ones, death, poverty, and changes/Transitions. Another Challenge was to understand my inner truth and self confidence and last but not least breaking out the matrix. We would want the world to know that they are apart of our story and it’s not finished. We are going to innovate ,re-generate, bring the past to the future so the present really feels like a gift through technology, health/wellness/metaphysics, transportation, clothing, and more. Let’s Raise the dimension!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is always fun when family and friends come into town. I do my best to incorporate things on there bucket list (it’s only right to be a tourist for the first day or two visiting) and then my personal favorite places. First day I’ll take them to Santa Monica pier, the view is really amazing especially the sunset. Go to a nice restaurant afterwards. There’s a really good Vegan restaurant in the promenade that we would go, if they at meat I would take them to misfits or this steak house by the beach, I forgot the name unfortunately. I Can be a detailed person , so i’m going to simplify the rest of the vacation week. Day2 : Dtla /Hollywood – do some shopping at boutiques, catch some lunch at the grand central food market.
Day3 : Silver lake / Melrose – I feel like these areas are perfect if your into art, architecture, fashion, and people.
Day4 : Long Beach – the vibe here brings a laid back appeal. from the parks, ocean views, mermaids, and restaurants .
Day5 : The Broad – this museum is so much fun because the really show pop culture and art a it’s T.
Day6 : Pasednea Rose Bowl – Going to the flea market here will blow your mind if you can catch on the first Sunday.
Day7 : Malibu – Let’s end this trip on a Monday and go to Malibu to reflect and collect memories.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a lot of people to be thankful for. First my ancestors, they always protecting me and I wouldn’t be able to experience this lifetime without them existing. Second my Mom. My mother did a lot for me and my siblings growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina . She taught a lot of life lessons and perspective from her time being in Jamaica. I love her so.
