Meet Khalia Edmond | Photographer & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Khalia Edmond and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Khalia, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I love taking pictures of people and creating videos capturing special moments or scenery. One day it just hit me, and I said let me learn the business side of photography and videography and make money from my passion.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
KMa Kontent is a service based production company. We create high value marketable photos+videos for brands and business’s. I’ve always been passionate about being creative. I love fashion and I’m a stylist, I love music and I’m a songwriter. Photography is something I’ve always loved . Most people do not have a great photo of themselves on a professional level and being able to make people feel good and see their best self makes me happy that I can capture that . As far as videography it shows more than a photo, it really allows me to be creative and show my creative eye when capturing specific moments or just the vibe in general. I definitely want to learn all there is to know about videography and be the best in the game. Major lesson I’m learning with being a new entrepreneur is to be patient with my self and trust the process . It’s so much to learn and many mistakes and lessons to grow from, but having the right people around you that can encourage you and support you is very important in building a successful business. Also you have to make sacrifices and really network. You can’t get booked if you not out making moves and making a name for yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My bestfriend is Wayne’’M and he takes me on the best dates EVER. We love going to Vox Kitchen, Nicks On 2nd Ave, brunch at Blaqhouse and one of our favorite spots the hotel Maya and their brunch at the restaurant Fuego. Also a fun beach day in Malibu or Newport Beach, or we can go to San Diego and hit up Seneca or Coasterra. Vegas is always fun as well. We can hit the strip and the blue martini lounge. I’m definitely a friend that knows where the vibes are!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes special shout-out to Rajaee Jackson and his company Innovations Photography for partnering with my company and allowing me assist with photography and creating content. Shoutout to Gigi Harville for nominating me. She is an entrepreneur that I highly admire. Also shoutout to Wayne Lucas for giving me the vision and being my ace. And Spechale Lewis for allowing me to capture her photos for the article she recently did for Vogue LA.
