We had the good fortune of connecting with Khrissy Briscoe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khrissy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risk is so important because nothing grows in your comfort zone. My entire career I have taken risk and trusted GOD throughout the process. I’m very persistent with every goal I give myself. My biggest accomplishments have thrived from me not being afraid to fail. Once you shift your mindset and start looking at things from a different POV, you’ll see how much more further you can go.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve worked in event production now for 10 years. It started with me producing my own event- Music N’ Media to learning the ins/outs of event production. Which led me to work with notable brands and companies such as; Amazon Rotation, Essence, BET, TEC Leimert to name a few. I’m most proud of being able to accomplish and bring live events and assist with productions in my own community. Circulating the black dollar and continuing to support black owned businesses.

I’ve learned nothing happens overnight- the journey I’m on isn’t for the weak. It takes a lot of patience & hard work. I think the world is learning is that I’m going to always support my own. I stood on the frontlines to show people that a black women in her field can dominate.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ohhhh I love this question: I’m from South Central- so if I had a friend visiting the city I would start by taking them to Simply Wholesome for a smoothie, and then we would hit Somerville for dinner. I’m 40 years old so a fun night out for me is laid back attire, music and drinks lol. I would take them to The Dime on Fairfax on a DJ Rtistic night (free entry) great vibes there. Something with more ambiance- we would hit Harriet’s rooftop in Hollywood. I love the Culver City stairs or the trail by the Getty for some outdoor hiking.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
S/O to my daughter Tori. She’s my biggest cheerleader.
