Meet Kimberly and Tiffany Le | Luxury Proposal and Picnic Planners

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly and Tiffany Le and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly and Tiffany, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Hello! We are Kimberly and Tiffany aka Something Special Twins! We set up luxury proposals and picnics. Something Special is a venture that we both started together. Before becoming proposal and picnic planners, we were both elementary special education teachers. As much as we loved the classroom and our students, we decided to take a risk and take a break from teaching. While we were still in our late 20s, we decided this was the time to try something new and become our own bosses! As former special education teachers, we want to continue making an impact on other people’s lives and what better way than creating lasting memories! Quitting our jobs to start something from scratch was scary but exciting. We’re lucky to say that our jobs now are to simply make people happy. We both love love and are hopeful romantics! We absolutely love creating romantic dates nights and dream proposals for our couples! Along with love, we really enjoy bringing people together and hosting! It is so special to us being part of people’s celebratory life memories such as birthdays, bridal showers, company retreats, and so much more! Taking this risk to start Something Special together was something we’d never think we’d do if you asked about our future 5 years ago. Taking the leap has been so rewarding seeing what we can create with our bare hands and passion. We’re so excited to see where this beautiful journey will continue to lead us. What should our readers know about your business?
We are luxury proposal and picnic planners! Looking for a grand gesture to propose to your significant other? We got you! Looking for a birthday gift or anniversary date? We got you! Looking for a way to celebrate with friends, family, or coworkers? We got you!

For our set ups to be truly something special, we love collaborating with our guests to add in their personalized touches. Whether it be favorite colors, flowers, location, or personalized messages! It makes us so happy when we see a dream set up come to life for our guests! Seeing people have a good time at our set ups laughing, hugging, eating, kissing, crying, talking, taking photos, etc pushes us more and more every day.

When we first started, it was scary. Would people like our picnic set ups and vision? Would anyone book us? Would someone trust us with their proposal? However, it was the best decision! Working with your twin? Yes please! After our first picnic and then first proposal, we were on a high and could not stop. We love creating and designing a new set up. Every day we are learning something new for our business, creative design, and ourselves! We appreciate all of our past guests and are so thankful to be part of these precious special memories!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If our best friend was visiting the area, we’d definitely show them the joys of a luxury picnic! Whether it be at the beautiful Rose Garden in San Jose, Coastal Bluffs in Half Moon Bay, or stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge at Baker Beach! We’d grab some of our favorite foods, milk tea, and enjoy a picnic with our bestie. We’d catch up, soak in everything around us, and enjoy life! After, we’d bust our some board games and play some quirky competitive games while watching the sun set.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to our family and close friends for believing in us and supporting us when we first started! HUGE shoutout to our boyfriends for helping us whenever we need the extra muscle! We also want to shoutout our community. We’ve made and connected with so many supportive and kind small business friends. Anyone who has shared, liked, commented, or referred us we appreciate it all. Lastly, shoutout to all of our past guests! Some have traveled far to work with us and we are thankful. Yall are the best, we love you!
