We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Haley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what inspires you?
I’m deeply inspired by people who have overcome what seemed impossible—those underdog stories and the voices of the overlooked or forgotten. There’s something powerful about that kind of resilience. What captivates me most is the mental focus and heart determination it takes to stay hopeful, even when your current reality shows you every reason not to be. That kind of inner strength—the quiet, unseen kind—is what moves me most.

I also draw a lot of inspiration from nature. It’s the epitome of order and resilience. There’s so much peace to be found in the way it moves through cycles—unbothered, unhurried, and always adapting. Nature reminds me that healing and growth don’t have to be loud to be real. Even in stillness, there’s movement. Even in loss, there’s a return. It teaches me to trust the process, even when I can’t see the outcome.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Relaxed and Restored is a therapeutic wellness practice rooted in bodywork, education, and intention. I work primarily with women who are navigating stress, chronic pain, inflammation, or post-surgical recovery. Most of my clients are high-achieving, caregiving, doing-all-the-things type of women—who have never really been taught how to care for their bodies before they break down.

What sets my practice apart is the educational lens I bring into every session. Massage is the entry point, but the goal is always bigger: to help women understand what their bodies are trying to tell them, how stress and inflammation show up physically, and what they can do between sessions to stay well. I’m a certified neuromuscular therapist, and I approach every treatment with both clinical insight and deep compassion. I don’t believe in surface-level solutions. I believe in informed care that leads to real change.

It definitely hasn’t been easy. I’ve built this business while raising a family, navigating burnout, and learning how to trust myself as both a practitioner and a business owner. There were seasons where it felt like I was doing everything wrong—and seasons that stretched me in ways I didn’t see coming. But every challenge sharpened my clarity and reminded me why I started: to create a space where women are seen, heard, and taught how to care for themselves in ways that prevent disease—not just treat symptoms.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that people don’t just need services—they need support. They need someone to translate what’s going on in their bodies, to give them language and tools that help them reclaim their health. That’s what I offer at Relaxed and Restored: relief, but also knowledge. Comfort, but also clarity.

What I want the world to know is that self-care isn’t indulgent—it’s informed. It’s smart. It’s proactive. And when women are educated about their health, they move differently. They take up space with more confidence. That’s the impact I hope to continue making—one session, one conversation at a time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for the week, I’d want her trip to feel like a mix of rest, joy, good food, and genuine connection. L.A. has so much to offer, but for me, the magic is in moving with intention—not just hitting every tourist spot, but creating space to slow down and really feel the city.

We’d start the week on Monday with coffee and a light bite from Hilltop in View Park, followed by a Pilates fusion class at Spiked Wellness. Afterward, we’d stop by a local farmers market to grab fresh produce and flowers, then head home to cook dinner. Nothing fancy—just good food, music, and space to catch up and ease into the week.

Tuesday and Wednesday would be our staycation in Laguna Beach. We’d spend our days stretched out by the water, sipping wine at a local tasting room, and exploring some of the cozy restaurants and art-driven spots in town. We might even go for a hike—Laguna has some beautiful trails. The goal here: no schedule, no rush—just quality time.

Thursday would be all about culture. We’d spend the morning at The Getty Museum, then enjoy a packed lunch on the lawn. That evening, we’d head to Zaya—it’s one of those spots where the food, music, and energy all come together to create an unforgettable experience.

Friday would be dedicated to self-care. We’d spend the most of the day at Burke Williams Spa, enjoying the steam rooms and my go-to treatment, The Hunter’s Retreat. After a deeply relaxing day, we’d head to Elephante for dinner. With ocean views and amazing food, it’s the perfect way to close out a day of full restoration.

Saturday would be all about creativity. After brunch at Alta, we’d head straight to a pottery class at Bare Root Ceramics. That evening, we’d have dinner at Laya Restaurant—a space that’s always full of good energy and even better food.

Sunday would be sacred. We’d start with church in the morning, then head to Poppy + Rose for brunch—it’s one of my favorite spots. Afterward, we’d head home to rest and reset before inviting a few close friends over that evening. Since she used to live here, it would be a sweet, full-circle moment to close out the trip—good people, great conversation.

To me, the best kind of trip isn’t about seeing everything—it’s about feeling everything.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shout out my husband—he’s such a go-with-the-flow kind of person, which is honestly the complete opposite of me. I tend to be more structured, more plan-every-detail, and watching how effortlessly he adapts has been one of the biggest lessons for me—not just in life, but in my work as a practitioner and business owner.

There’s so much nuance in business, so many unexpected shifts, and if you don’t learn how to pivot without letting it drain you, it’s easy to burn out. He’s helped me learn how to move with change instead of fighting against it.

And on top of that, he’s a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist—but truly one of the most unconventional therapists you’ll ever meet. His approach is so authentic, and it’s inspired me to show up the same way in the wellness space: fully myself, no filter. That’s been freeing, and it’s shaped how I hold space for others too.
