We had the good fortune of connecting with kimberly meza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi kimberly, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in California but my parents are from Mexico and Honduras. Ever since I can remember both my parents have taught my siblings and I the true meaning of working hard for what we one day aspired to be.
We not only saw hard work coming from them daily but were also included to be part of that. I remember my mom always taking us door to door offering blankets for sale and showing us that there’s always a way to make money & that we just had to be willing to work hard. My childhood experiences have had a huge impact in who I am today, all this led to me believing in myself and knowing that if I worked hard I can make my dream come true of owning a bakery. These experiences not only taught me character but also taught me how to deal with people through customer service. Thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, & love from them both I am living my dream.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our bakery Sugar Bloom Cakery & coffee specializes in unique, almost to pretty to eat desserts and cakes for all occasions. I am very proud of where we stand today in our business career and can’t wait to see what the future holds. It definitely is not easy, is everything but that. A lot of sacrifice goes into owning a bakery, it requires your attention 24/7 and working 18+ hour shifts. We’ve learned to be patient and learn something new everyday from each other and our amazing clients. We not only want to become better at what we do in every aspect but also make sure that we offer our clients pure quality. Our goal is Tom continue doing what we love and making the sweet world a better one by offering pure quality that’ not only can be seen but can also be felt.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Sugarbloom of course!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Veronica & Edwin Meza both my parents have had a huge impact in my success. My husband Eric Aguilar has been my right hand, my support system and my business partner- I wouldn’t be able to do it without him.
