We had the good fortune of connecting with Koi Kadara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Koi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

As I travel through my spiritual journey, especially when the pandemic began, what helped me stay grounded and at peace was practicing the art of living consciously in the present moment and having gratitude. I have learned that being present allows me to only think about now, not the past or the future, only now. What helps me remember to be present is when I write affirmations on my flashcards and put them around my house.

I began my jewelry business during the pandemic. Feb 2021 to be exact. My thought process was birthed from having so much creative energy built up from being home for so long. I love wearing jewelry because it makes me feel good and it always completely the look. Most of all my intentions for Asanti By Koi were more than just fashion jewelry, I wanted my pieces to be meaningful. So I started to custom design pieces that serve as daily affirmation reminders. Symbols that have meaning and can resonate with anyone draw to them. It brings me joy to see my customers wear there daily reminder pieces. I found that this was such a great way to express self love, remind yourself and other of the joys of living with intention while looking and feeling good!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Aside from being a business owner, I am an Actress also. I have been doing commercials / print since 2014 and began acting in short films during the pandemic. I am proud of my resilience, my drive and most of all my complete devotion to my spiritual journey. I have come this far because of God’s grace. I couldn’t have done it myself. Submitting to the most high had opened the door for me to be divinely guided through this journey. Of course it hasn’t always been easy but knowing that everything always happens for a reason, for me and seeing evidence of it manifest is what has kept me moving forward. It is extremely important to be self aware, rooted, centered and balanced because it allows you to attract the right people and experiences that will bring you closer to your desires!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many places I would take my best friend. I would give her the ultimate tourist experience. I would take her to the beaches in Malibu, Venice & San Diego. I love beach vibes. Rodeo Drive would be another place I would take her and we would eat at any fancy restaurants that way to many to write. I would take her on hiking trails near the Hollywood sign like Runyon Canyon. Joeys is another nice restaurant in Woodland Hills for good food and drinks. Sunset blvd, we can take a shuttle to see Celebrity homes and learn about Hollywood. Explore the night life. Etc. In my view, someone who hasn’t been to La wants to see La culture so all the hot spots must be explored. I am not much of a touristy person, I love to do nature hikes and explore different beaches.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to Shout out my dearest friend Aarica. She recommended me to this and I can’t be grateful enough for her thinking about me, her love, and encouragement. She has always been for #TeamKoi. I love you Aarica!

I also want to Shoutout my Soul Sister Sophia! I am certain she was delivered to me by God himself! In this phase of my life, she has certainly had given me so much love, support, and we have build a great sisterhood so I shout her out!
