We had the good fortune of connecting with Kris Figueroa DJ PROPHET and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kris Figueroa, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly, music and movement have always been my language. DJing wasn’t just about spinning records—it was about connecting energy, telling stories through sound, and elevating the vibe in any room I walked into. Over time, that passion evolved into something deeper—a calling to not only entertain but to inspire. I chose this creative path because it gave me the freedom to be fully me. Whether I’m behind the decks, coaching kids on the field or court, or pushing someone through a workout, I’m in my zone when I’m helping people feel something real. It’s more than a career—it’s a mission rooted in rhythm, growth, and impact.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is energy. Whether I’m DJing, coaching, training, or speaking, I’m channeling a frequency that lifts people up. Music is my medium, but transformation is the real mission. I’ve been in this game for over 25 years—spinning records, rocking shows, mentoring athletes, and building a lifestyle that blends discipline, creativity, and heart. I’m not here to just make noise—I’m here to make an impact.

What sets me apart is the depth behind the vibe. I’m not just playing tracks—I’m telling a story, reading the room, and creating a space where people can let go and feel alive. The same goes for how I coach or train—I’m not handing out cookie-cutter motivation. I’m guiding people to tap into their own power through discipline, self-belief, and a no-excuse mindset.

It wasn’t easy getting here. I’ve had seasons where the gigs dried up, the doubt crept in, and life tested me heavy—from fatherhood to marriage to financial struggles and my mother passing. But every challenge taught me to lean in, level up, and move with purpose. The key lesson? Consistency beats talent. Keep showing up. Keep growing. Keep believing in your calling—even when no one claps.

What I’m most proud of is that I never sold out or lost my core. I’m still that kid with a dream, but now I’ve got the experience, the scars, and the wisdom to match. My brand—DJ Prophet—isn’t just about beats, it’s about elevation. I want the world to know that this isn’t just entertainment—it’s a movement. A reminder that you can be dope, disciplined, and driven. All at once.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man, I’ve got a whole village behind me. First and foremost, I gotta shout out my family—my wife my 2 sons and my daughter—who keep me grounded, motivated, and focused on the bigger picture. They inspire me through every late night, every gig, every training session, and every moment I’m chasing purpose over comfort.

Next up, my mom. Her work ethic, love, and sacrifices laid the foundation. She taught me how to show up consistently—even when the crowd is small, the checks are late, or the vision isn’t fully clear yet.

I also have to recognize my mentors, coaches, and fellow DJs—those who poured into me without even knowing it, whether it was a word of encouragement, tough love, or leading by example. And real talk, books like Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale helped shift my mindset and gave me tools to dig deeper.

Shoutout to every student-athlete I’ve coached, every dance floor I’ve rocked, and every person who believed in DJ Prophet before the world did. They are all part of this journey.
