We had the good fortune of connecting with Kris Kehasukjaren and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kris, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I’d say the most important factor to any success I’ve had is commitment. I think once you’ve decided to do something that you should pour 100% of yourself into it whether you’re passionate about it or not. The commitment creates consistency and makes you dependable not just to other people but to yourself as well. A lot of art is about feeling and inspiration but sometimes just the sheer act of determination and persistence can allow for some of that spontaneity and creativity to appear in between.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hmm not sure what exactly set me apart from others; I just draw what’s interesting to me. I think as long as you’re honest about your likes and dislikes your personality shows through which I think will make each person’s work unique. I’ve learned tons of small lessons along the way but the main ones are to be committed and put your all into what you choose. Also not sure what I’d like people to know about my brand or story; I think I actually use the art to understand the world around me so hoping just to capture little parts of life in the work for people to see.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to Ander Louis and Justin Orr. Both of these guys have helped ignite the journey I began 8 years ago and I really appreciate the roles they played during that time in my life.
