We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Bing and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristina, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Trusting my gut and not worrying about what anyone else thought about what I was doing was a huge factor in helping me succeed. I have worked lots of jobs where I knew I wasn’t supposed to be there and sometimes let that lingering feeling of “its time for a change” go on for too long. Your gut always knows!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I went to FIDM and always had a creative eye and decided to hand paint pots after college. I was able to sell them to some of my favorite retail stores in LA and Long Beach. During the pandemic I had so much time on my hands and decided to teach myself a new craft — punch needle. I’ve always loved handmade goods and wanted to make something with my girlfriend that would pass the time but was also fun. With any new project it takes time and patience! Along the way i’ve learned that you always have to give yourself time to create just for yourself, even if no one sees it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite places in LA to eat: Alta West Adams, Kismet, Jon + Vinnys, Bottega Louie, Armon’s Eagle Rock Favorite places to visit: Reparations Club, Broad Museum, LACMA, The Huntington Library, Melody Ehsani Store, Folia Collective
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom! She gives the best advice and always keeps it real.
