We had the good fortune of connecting with Ksenia Kalinichenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ksenia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I first opened Wonderland Family Photo Studio, my intention was to be just a business owner. However the team of photographers that I picked wasn’t trustworthy and reliable and I had to cancel on my clients. It was then when I first took a professional camera and learned all the tricks. I realized that sometimes you have to jump over your head, to hustle, to keep going in order to be successful.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I always loved photography since it’s the best way to capture life. I never knew I would once be behind the camera myself. It was very challenging since just being a good photographer wasnt enough. I want to give my clients unforgettable experience of falling in love with pregnancy and maternity pictures. I truly believe that having a baby is magical, that’s what helped me to overcome the challenges

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My number one will always be the beaches. That’s what California is famous for. El Matador is my choice for photography. The Grove is great for shopping, farmers Market and hang outs with friends. Rodeo dr, must see in Beverly Hills and you have to visit Beverly Hills))) alley of the stars and chinese theatre, just because it’s Hollywood and we all love Oscar. There are tons of great places to eat but my personal favorites will be Toca Madera for its great food, drinks, live music and ambiance and Yamashiro for its breathtaking views

My daughter Mia @official_miakali has been my inspiration and motivation
