Meet Kurtis Moss | Photographer/Videographer & Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kurtis Moss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kurtis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I didn’t think much of it honestly. I spend most of my free time at local shows so I picked up the camera a few years ago just as something fun to do while I’m there. At a certain point I think I realized, if I put in the effort, I can turn this into a business and spend more time watching live music and less time doing other stuff.

What should our readers know about your business?
I run a freelance content creation business for musicians. Shooting photo and video, anywhere from short form content for social media to touring with bands. It definitely hasn’t been easy, It’s a challenge everyday to do the work and promote yourself consistently and value yourself enough to charge for your product. But it just comes down to doing the work, it’s always hard to do good work no matter what you’re doing so I’m grateful I get to do something I enjoy, surrounded by good people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Easy, Happy Wok in Rowland Heights for food. The Paradox in Pomona for drinks. And then whatever shows are happening that week😎🔥🤝🏼💯

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout my parents, they’ve always been supportive and positive about what I’m pursuing in life. And shoutout the music scene as a whole, can’t do anything without a community of people willing to put in the work to make shows happen.
