We had the good fortune of connecting with Kushagra Jain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kushagra, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by the beauty of everyday moments and the diversity of human experiences. The rich cultural heritage of India and the vibrant artistic scene in Los Angeles constantly fuel my creativity. I’m also inspired by the power of storytelling and the ability to capture genuine emotions through photography. The dedication and passion of the people I photograph, whether they’re artists on a film set or individuals in everyday life, deeply influence my work and drive me to create images that resonate with authenticity and meaning.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career in photography started in Delhi, where my early fascination with capturing moments evolved into a deep passion. Moving to Los Angeles and studying at the New York Film Academy was a significant turning point. It wasn’t easy—navigating a new culture, establishing a network, and overcoming financial challenges were all part of the journey. What sets me apart is my ability to blend the rich cultural narratives from my Indian heritage with the dynamic and innovative influences of LA.

I’m most proud of my work on film sets, where I capture the magic of movie-making, and my portraits, which connect deeply with viewers. The lessons I’ve learned include the importance of persistence, continuous learning, and building strong relationships within the industry.

I want the world to know that my brand is about authentic storytelling and connecting with people through powerful, evocative imagery. My story is one of resilience, creativity, and the pursuit of passion against all odds.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Los Angeles for a week, I’d ensure they experience the best of the city. On the first day, we’d start with breakfast at Grand Central Market, visit The Broad Museum, have lunch at Perch, and catch an evening show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The next day, we’d hike to the Hollywood Sign, lunch at Musso & Frank Grill, explore the Walk of Fame, and dine at Yamashiro.

For Santa Monica and Venice, we’d bike the pier, lunch at Water Grill, enjoy Venice Beach, and have dinner at Gjelina.

In Beverly Hills, we’d visit the Getty Center, lunch at Spago, shop on Rodeo Drive, and enjoy drinks at the Rooftop by JG.

At Griffith Park and Silver Lake, we’d visit Griffith Observatory, lunch at Alcove Cafe, explore Silver Lake, and dine at Botanica.

A trip to Malibu would include a drive along the PCH, lunch at Malibu Farm, relaxing at Zuma Beach, and dinner at Nobu.

Finally, we’d explore Culver City’s arts district, lunch at Father’s Office, visit LACMA, and have a final dinner at Republique.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe much of my success to the unwavering support and mentorship of several key people and organizations. My family has been a constant source of encouragement, especially during challenging times. The New York Film Academy played a crucial role in honing my skills and providing invaluable opportunities. Additionally, the vibrant community of photographers and artists in Los Angeles has been instrumental in my growth. I’d also like to give a shoutout to my mentors and colleagues who have shared their knowledge and inspired me throughout my journey. Their support has been indispensable in shaping my career.
