We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Horton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyle, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the most important factors behind my success are the trials and tribulation that I have endured. These obstacles have molded me into the person I am today. These same obstacles have allowed me to pour into my brand.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business Chosen 1 Training is a health and fitness brand that has been created to help our client’s achieve their sports or fitness goals. We have been in business since March of 2020, the road has not been easy but I am proud of the consistent steps we have taken forward.

I am most proud of the variety of ages we have been able to work with. Our clients are now ranging from age 5 to 50 also we have had the opportunity to work with some professional athletes (NFL). We now are offering skill development pertaining to sports goals, personal training focusing on weight loss, and we offer group fitness classes. Building and maintaining relationships with our clients allows for our clients to trust the programs we have in place.

We also were able to host a Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive where we were able to provide the homeless with $500 worth of goods. And we were able to host 2 flag football events where we had over 100 athletes at each event.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week long trip I would definitely take my best friend to a sporting event. Charlotte has an NBA, NFL, and Minor League baseball teams, those games are always a good time. For our food and drink we would most likely find our way downtown. Downtown there are certain neighborhoods dedicated to different cuisine we could find different styles of foods each day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I want to thank my parents for the life lessons they’ve taught me. The discipline they instilled in me has allowed for me to bring discipline into all aspects of my life. I want to thank the game of football for making me the person I am, I have learned so many life lessons since I started playing at age 6. And lastly, I want to thank my friends and family for encouraging me when times get tough to keep pushing forward.
