We had the good fortune of connecting with Lacey Wissmann and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lacey, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is what allowed my entrepreneurial spirit to dream and create the new life for myself that I live today. Because I have not yet achieved the success I dreamed, I know there are still many more risks that will be faced in the future; those unexpected risks provide growth and learning opportunities leading to a more lucrative level of business outreach.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I like a challenge, so taking the easy way won’t happen unless it’s the only way in that moment. I’ve always found the more challenging path offers the greater reward, and the journey can be so unpredictable and exciting. Knowing how to prepare for the challenge is key, so having a steadfast Christian faith provided me a sure path for developing an outlook I can depend on to carry me through life’s obstacles and plot twists. When life becomes too much, I like to look to nature and the environment for what they can offer not just myself-everyone can find solace and renewal in Mother Nature, so that’s what inspires my creative endeavors.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s take a trip down Rt. 66: that’s where you find all the iconic gems of the past, the architectural achievements and the restaurants with the long history of Hollywood’s Golden Age celebrity visits. That’s also a great route to drive here if you’re coming from the East, right through Palm Springs with it’s gorgeous, natural views of the desert. You can go all the way to Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard with the amazing views of the Hollywood Hills and their many architectural wonders. You can visit the Hollywood sign, the most famous sign in the world, and the Griffith Observatory for it’s city views and unbeatable educational opportunities. You can stay at one of the many unique hotels along this path and be sure to check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame and all the famous (or infamous) rock clubs like Whiskey a Go Go, where celebrities liked to chill because I love some electric guitar! Then, you might like a morning hike at Runyon Canyon with it’s fabulous views of Hollywood I just mentioned plus ocean views in the distance, and at the top, you can see the other side of the hills. Grab some water and a snack at the N. Fuller Ave. entrance where you can pay with cash or a smartphone app. Grab a bite at Pink’s famous Hot Dogs stand where the hot dogs are named after celebrities favorites.
Next, catch some waves or boogie boarding at the beach off Santa Monica Pier, Manhattan Beach , or Redondo Beach especially near the Seaside Lagoon which is an amazing swimming spot with shopping and a few seafood restaurants to choose from at the nearby wooden pier and it’s own skate park .
For major shopping, head to the iconic Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills or Surf City, Huntington Beach’s Pacific City and Bella Terra shopping malls to find all your designer Brands like Gucci, Dior, etc.
Also, don’t forget to head North next and stop in Anaheim to visit Disneyland for some more shopping, the best rides and shows, and some of the best eats around!
Head back to Hollywood to take in Universal Studios, the Musso & Frank Grill, another iconic celebrity hangout, Melrose Avenue , or a show at the Comedy Store on Sunset.
Don’t forget to take some architectural tours such as the Getty Villa and the Frank Lloyd Wright house .
Most of all, instead of stressing about traffic, take the time to enjoy being lost in this huge city and have fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Any success that I have achieved in life can be attributed to my Christian faith and love for the life that Jesus Christ taught us how to live. Having some amazing friends and family didn’t hurt either. Shoutout to my creative colleagues at BDS and the film industry and especially my colleagues and mentors at RE/MAX!
