Meet Lakeisha Rush | Personal Shopper & Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lakeisha Rush and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lakeisha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I think it came out of my own selfish needs and thinking there will be others who have the same concerns. Also at the time I started many were not doing the same things I was, so it was a opportunity to differentiate.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I currently work as a Personal Shopper. I have been doing this for about 10 years. What sets me a part from a number of personal shoppers is I am not trying to charge high price tags over the retails, my aim is to find you the best price possible for the item which you seek. It was easy for me to start my business because I had been doing it for myself for years. The difficulty comes with time-management and people expectations.
I have learned to separate business and friends, I have learned not to take things personally, and I also I have learned that YOU are what set your business apart from anyone else that may be the same business model.
Id like people to know my brand and story is a personal one, it came from a place of wanting to show people you can get what you want with patience and research.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had friends coming for the weekend, we’d have brunch at Haberdish, visit my favorite small Chinese restaurant Wan Fu Quality Chinese Cuisine, Italian eats at salemeri in SC. We’d take a overnight day trip to Asheville, N.C. for hiking, good eats, a foot massage at Wake Foot Sanctuary and outlet shopping. I love a night out with friends at Puttery, they have the best appetizers and drinks.
Camp North End and Optimist Hall are good locations to check out as well. We can’t not shop this week; we’ll be visiting Shop Capitol, Poole Shop, Shop Showroom and Dupp + Swat.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband Anthony Rush, sister Sade Williams they push, challenge and encourage me every day that I can dream bigger. They also tell me to just do it.
