We had the good fortune of connecting with Lanier McKinney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lanier, how do you think about risk?
I think that it’s necessary to take calculated risk in order to achieve your goals. Whether it be on the dance floor or just learning a new skill set. I believe the greater the risk the greater the reward and once I make my mind up about doing something, it’s done! I then took that leap of faith to move and follow my dreams.

What should our readers know about your business?
The LM3 experience is about uplifting performers and creating structured actions for success. My Artist Development intensive “BodyLanguage,” is where I take the necessary efforts to develop recording artists and dancers step-by-step. You will get professional industry training to help you with stage performance, confidence, character development, camera work, movement coaching, choreography and mentorship. I’ve been working in the entertainment industry for over 10 years and I offer a creative, professionally developed experience!

What I’m most proud of is that I was able to sustain my business and start school while keeping my mental and physical health intact.

I believe what sets me apart is my diversity in style and patience in one’s development process.

How I got to where I am today is by being resilient, having self confidence and keeping the right support system in my corner.

A few lessons that I learned along the way is to take your time and continue studying. Take necessary breaks because it can become draining on your mind, body and spirit.

I would like for the world to know that my brand was created from my life’s experiences. With all of the trials and errors I created art to share and give back to others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m not really an itinerary type of person especially when I’m traveling. I love having an idea and going with the flow. I like the adventure and spontaneity aspect of discovering new places and usually I always end up somewhere with a drink and a vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would always have to say my parents and then close family and friends.
