Meet Laura Greenberg | Business & Personal Development Catalyst & Healing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Greenberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
The idea of a work/life balance is an outside in approach. It lends one to think that if their work life was balanced with their personal life that everything would be ok. With the clients that I coach, I use an inside out approach.
When I was building my coaching and healing business, I put my core values first. I had a small child and being there for his was my number one priority. I built my business around being with him. I value time with friends & family. I value traveling. I value time to do fun activities or just go to the beach.
When I notice frustration or overwhelm in my life it’s often because I’m not aligning my time with my values. There are days and weeks where I work a lot, where I spend less time with my son, etc. It’s usually the days that I’m so enlivened with my work that it’s a pleasure to put more time and effort in to it.
Balance comes from the inside. But so does acceptance that some days, weeks and months are going to consist of more of my effort and energy going to my work – which I LOVE, and sometimes more effort, energy and time is going to go toward my family, friends or my own joy.
I’d say instead of trying to find a magic system for work/life balance, find out what you’re core values are first, then align your life with those values. Showing up for any job can illicit joy and pleasure if it’s alignment with your values.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a child I remember asking big questions. I remember knowing what people were saying and why, underneath the words that came out of their mouths. My life took a turn in my late 20s with a full breakdown on all levels. Since then, I have been quenching this insatiable appetite for growth and healing. This has fueled the work I do today.
I got a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica in 2010, not with the focus on becoming a coach, but to learn how to work my process and communicate. That, plus many other modalities and training, has been the foundation of much of the work I do with coaching clients.
My current practice consists of a variety of personal coaching clients with different backgrounds and goals. The common theme is a returning home to the person they want to know inside and their Soul that they either want to reconnect with or get to know. There is a spiritual thread that runs through all of my work with clients, even my corporate clients. I also teach people practical skills to trust their intuition more through private and group training programs.
Building my business was not easy, but it was worth it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach would be number one. I love, love, love the beach. We would also get tacos at a variety of different spots. There are many different monuments and tourist spots to go to in Los Angeles to choose from. Most of the places we’d go would be in nature – hikes and beaches.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is a long list of coaches, healers, mentors, sponsors, family and friends that could be on my shoutout list! My parents and close friends are crucial for supporting me.
