Meet Heather Kertesz-Briest and Lauren Lazar | Co-Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Kertesz-Briest and Lauren Lazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather and Lauren, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sweet Lolli is a gifting company that aspires to make the experience of gifting more fun and personal. We work with customers to make their candy dreams come true! The idea for Sweet Lolli was born during the COVID 19 pandemic, as a way to connect friends and family through gifting. As we all know so well, we were disconnected from the people in our lives for such a long time, and we wanted to create a concept that was fun, playful, bright, and helped make people feel happy and connected with those they loved, regardless of how near or far away. Let’s be real.. there is nothing quite like receiving a surprise gift in the mail with your name on it (or your name spelled out in delicious, gummy candy letters) and we wanted to replicate that feeling through gifting. One aspect of our business that we are really proud of is our social mission surrounding youth mental health; we donate a portion of each sale to youth mental health organizations.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sweet Lolli is a gifting company that aspires to make the experience of gifting more fun and personal. We work with customers to make their candy dreams come true! We are really proud of our social mission surrounding youth mental health; we donate a portion of each sale to youth mental health organizations. We started our company during the height of the covid-19 outbreak as a way to connect family and friends through gifting. Starting a business is tough. We came together with different skill sets and experiences, and had to learn how to communicate with each other. You learn so much during the first year – what works, what doesn’t work. The most important lesson we learned was to not be stagnant or scared to try new things. Most importantly, we learned to listen to each other, trust each other and be nimble as each hurdle comes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We first would like to thank our families and friends for their love and guidance through the trials and tribulations of growing our business. You inspire us to be the best, strongest versions of ourselves everyday, and that transcends deeply into how we created our brand and business. We especially would like to express our appreciation to our amazing husbands (who have been friends since childhood); we cannot thank you enough for your unconditional love, support, and patience while we pursue our dream as entrepreneurs.
