We had the good fortune of connecting with Léa Cochet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Léa, why did you pursue a creative career?
The freedom of an artistic career is incomparable. I chose the film industry because of all the opportunities it has to offer. You get to be who you want to be and do what you love while you’re at it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a stunt woman. I throw myself off of building and I get set on fire! The best part about being a stunt performer is that there are an infinite amount of things to learn! Every day is different and I find that there’s always something to work on. The stunt community is amazing too. It’s full of great, passionate and inspiring people. I am really proud to be a part of it.
My advice would be… Make sure this is something you are 100% willing to commit to. If you are not passionate about it, it is going to suck a little. You won’t always get to do the cool stuff and if you want to get somewhere, be ready for long training hours. But if this job is for you, it will all be worth it in the end. As someone told be once: Train where the stunt people train, buckle down for a long road and enjoy the journey!!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA is so big… I would take them for a ride on Mullholand Drive and eat Ramen at Izakaya in Van Nuys. We would go see the PCH and eat sea food somewhere along the coast.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Andrea Ross, boss mama and incredible stunt woman who was the first person to guide me when I decided to pursue this career!
