Meet Lea Roman | Beauty Therapist & Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lea Roman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lea, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe risk taking is the only way you find out what’s supposed to happen in your life. Whether you fail or succeed, the journey which risks can take you on may teach you valuable life lessons. I’ve always been a risk taker. I dive in and figure it out as I go. My life and career(s) actually flourish because of risk taking.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an artist, not with a brush and canvas, but in multiple ways. I create beauty with hair and makeup AND I create art as an actress to inspire and motivate others. I’ve always dreamed of being a successful actress as a little girl. In fact, I was an actor from about 5 years old. Ranging from local theater, independent films, high school and college projects. My work life took me on a journey of fashion, TV, and I finally landed into hair and makeup artistry. My heart still was silently humming the passion of being an actress, but I wasn’t paying attention for years. Creativity was always a part of my jobs and if it wasn’t, I made it so! I eventually started my own beauty business. This included recording videos for workshops surrounding the tips and tricks of beauty. Throughout my life, I was still doing small acting gigs and that kept me content. Although, once I began to create my workshop videos, the spark was turning into flames. I loved being in front of the camera. It seems the timing was all falling into place. It didn’t happen in a positive way I would recognize right immediately. The pandemic happened and I eventually had to shut down my beauty studio. But that allowed me more time to create videos. Within that time the voice of wanting to be an actress was becoming very loud within the silence of a global pandemic during lock down. Fast forward to 3 years later, I’m a working actress and my beauty business has now become more part time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friend and I would definitely go to Barrel 33 in Ventura every evening. This is the heart of Ventura County. You haven’t lived until you’ve dined under the hospitality of Parfait. We would also venture up to the botanical gardens for a glorious walk in nature. We’d also have to visit Herzog for some yummy wine tasting.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this particular shoutout to my mastermind group! This collection of fascinating women has helped propel me to the place I am in my life. I love these women so much!
