We had the good fortune of connecting with Leenda Lucia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leenda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was rather simple; it wasn’t planned. I fell in love with working for myself while helping other business owners elevate their business’. I finally established my business in 2019 after a lot of research of how to properly do so. I’m very nervous to make any mistakes so the risk of making a legal error with no guidance was really my only hesitation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I LOVE creating my ideas into reality. I’ve always had limited resources when it came to my overall styling. I always had to improvise with my looks and props to bring my vision to light. I think a lot of people don’t understand how expensive each photoshoot can really be. I’m so happy to have met amazing creators who were open to helping bring these looks together and the final product was AMAZING! To look at my body of work over the years, I’m so happy with the woman I’ve become. I have lost a lot of people I’ve loved dearly. I’ve personally overcame suicide twice. I have been flat broke grabbing any job that would come my way while also having unresolved illness with my stomach. I have always tried to find a fair balance and one of my greatest lessons was to truly put myself first. I love the first 10 minutes of my day to read and journal before starting my day. The mental clarity that brings with such a fast paced business has truly saved me! I thrive in sharing my story with others so they too know they are not alone. That no matter what life brings us, we are never stuck! The more you believe in yourself the more others will too!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestie’s were in LA visiting I would 100% bring them to L’Avenue Restaurant in Glendale for my favorite Espresso Martini and dinner! I’m a huge foodie so they already know to brace themselves for some good eats! The week would consist of hiking Runyon Canyon, Lunch at Bacari in Glendale, Monday night vibes at 1640. One thing I have yet to do is truly act like a tourist so I’d love to do the tours through Hollywood with them. I’ve also yet to go to Universal, a lot of museums and days on the beach! I absolutely have to bring them through Beverly Hills and a nice sunset drive up the PCH! There is NOTHING better than sunsets along the ocean with all windows down! I’m confident my comedian friends will have a comedy show we can attend and I’ll never miss a good laugh!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There would be NO Leenda Lucia without my Mom, Lucia, and my family and friends. I have been very fortunate to create an indestructible support system over the years who always encourage me to keep going. My mentors, Michelle Dougherty & Jim Campanella, molded me as a young adult to always learn new trades to be as diverse as possible. The more diverse you are, the more opportunities you get, the more money you make and the more people you can teach. I never thought I would model for a living and I’m so thankful to Jennieanne & Liz for starting me down the funnest path I’ve ever walked. A HUGE dedication goes to Leo Tillett who passed yet is my largest motivator where our good friend, Shaun Garcia reminds me to never give up on myself and my goals. I can easily list so many amazing people who have helped me grow over the years. I’d love to add Rich Rebuilds to the mix! I started filming with him on YouTube 3 years ago and he’s taught me so much about the car community while also being an amazing supportive friend through some really trying times. Most importantly, my supporters on EVERY social media platform who continue to watch, like, share, comment, and follow my work. The engagement truly keeps me going. I owe so much to my supporters. I wish I could name EVERYONE but truly, everyone I’ve ever crossed paths with deserves recognition.
