Meet Lelund Hollins | Audio Engineer/Live Sound Engineer/Freelance Photographer/Pro Wrestling Liaison/Independent Contractor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lelund Hollins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lelund, why did you pursue a creative career?
Since I was kid growing up in the ghetto I just knew one day I would be an asset to the entertainment industry. I never really wanted to be an entertainer but somewhat a behind the scenes person is all I dreamed about

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art life has always been music and photography. My main art work is photography and the photographs of life in southern California. I was taking photos of murals, landmarks, beaches, sunsets and the homelessness crisis. I feel what sets me apart from my fellow photographers is that I have a distinctive vision and a photographer’s train of thoughts for creativity. Now professionally I never really thought a life in photography cause it was hobby. I remembered years ago I had many books of photography of wrestlers, concerts, and childhood photos of my life. Sadly, they were all destroyed by a jealous ex-wife and learned a very huge lesson afterwards. You never leave your important photos unattended and stored them in safe places. The journey was very hectic and mentally challenging but you gotta fight for what you want in this life. The main ingredients to challenging and overcoming trials and tribulations is based on several factors. Just staying focused mentally, emotionally and physically to maintain your sanity. I want people to know what kind of man I’ve become and my JOYCE brand which is very, very special to me. I decided to rename my venture, The JOYCE Edutainment Company based off the life and ideology of my late mother, Joyce Patricia Terrell. My mom stressed the importance of education values mixed with entertainment business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow that’s a very interesting good question but truthfully there’s a lot to do within a week. Now let me explain how I would entertain them with daily tours of LA landmarks, exquisite restaurants, comedy spots and can’t forget the beautiful beaches of California. I would try to get a sports event or go to music venues for live events. Hopefully I’ll get to meet my family, friends and comrades just hanging out enjoying the moment. If planned correctly they’ll have a wonderful time with the people in Southern California too.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my journey to the wonderful people and volunteers at Noho Home Alliance and the many great people who shared my journey especially the homeless community. I can’t forget all my extended relatives throughout the West Coast for the constant prayers, tough love and encouragement cause I wouldn’t be here to tell my story without it. I can’t forget my big brother Jefferson Flair for always being a true to me as a brother first and foremost. Thanks to my blood brother Cory Johnson for always being there when I needed it and that’s what real brothers are for. Much respect and love to the “Baltimore Bull” Robert Burrell and to ALL my comrades from the Los Angeles Film and Recording Schools, respectively. Most importantly, to ALL my pro wrestling comrades/family for always being the glue to a long lasting friendship that’s nearly 30 years in the making.
God bless the memories of my late brothers who were very supportive during my life’s journey.
