We had the good fortune of connecting with Lesly M. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lesly, what do you attribute your success to?
The world of beauty has always been something that I have wanted to take by storm. Ever since I could remember I’ve wanted to raise the vibration within the female collective and amplify any kind of vision or standard of beauty they needed to come to life. I was never chasing the idea of success, the act itself was a labor of love. One of my favorite aspects is the collaboration process with each and every client. It always feels so special to have them turn to me and trust me with their aesthetic goals. Every single interaction is still such a humbling wholesome experience. Honoring women through this labor of love will always be the “why” for me. Now looking back my why turned into the most important success factor. Success will always come naturally when you do what you love. Ultimately, it is my devotion towards Missfit that drives my day to day practice.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

One of the details that has stood the test of time since the very beginning is that every service offered at Missfit is completely custom to cater to the goals and needs of the client meaning every facial has its own skin recipe whipped up just for you! The facial services offered are truly one of a kind and the experience as a whole is unlike any other facial you will ever receive. We understand that surface of the skin is only the beginning when it comes to treating skin goals per our holistic approach and one of our key focuses with Missfitskin is the lymphatic drainage facial massage. This portion of the facial is notorious for its slimming and contouring affect which lifts and defines all of your best features, Sending you into a state of relaxation where you release any tension stored in the muscles. It’s best described as a deep tissue massage+workout for your face. Whatever the skin concern, Missfit has a facial that awaits you.
Our Missfit lash set is completely customized to suit the individuals features. We use faux mink lashes to replicate the appearance of the natural lash while adding depth and desired length. We also offer something a little more subtle for clients who look for a for a low maintenance service, our Lash Lifts offer a lift and shape to the natural lash that lasts anywhere from 8-10 weeks! One of the more recent services added to the menu that we’re excited about is our body contouring and sculpting treatment. This treatment targets individual body goals in eliminating targeted fat cells and promotes lymph and blood flow to tighten the connective tissue to tighten and tone any part of the body, results are immediate and long lasting. This treatment is very popular as prep for a special event or vacation. We have a very special launch coming this summer that we’re also excited to share for the first time with Shoutout! We will be launching Missfit Shades! This service is a heat infused air brush tanning service, our tanning solution is vegan, cruelty free and the first ever to offer a replenishing affect to the skin with enriched vitamins, aloe and green tea. Lasting anywhere from 2-3 weeks with a custom shade of your choosing.
One of my proudest accomplishments is taking my creative drive and turning it into a business. To see something that comes naturally to me turn into something bigger than I had ever envisioned is a dream turned into reality. Everyday I’m reminded that this experience isn’t mine alone, I share it daily with my clients and its constantly growing and evolving. It’s really shown me that there are no boundaries to how far Missfit will go. With all good things come a tremendous amount of hardwork and sacrifice, so was Missfit easy? Absolutely not however I have welcomed each challenge knowing that it meant growth was on the way. One of the most important lessons that I learned is balance, I had to hold the same compassion I had for my clients for myself. Allow myself to take breaks, do things that I deemed as self care in order to recharge for the community that I had created. I want readers and the world to know that Missfit Essentials is a place to honor yourself through the act of self care. Always striving for quality, integrity, our holistic approach and the evolution of whats to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well first off, LA has some of the best variety when it comes to showing someone a good time. Lets start by going down the food tour list, One of my favorite+must haves to dine in LA is Ysabel, so our first night we would have reservations there. Leading into the next day we would take a drive down to malibu for a hike at Los Leones followed by Sunlife smoothies and acai bowls at the beach then we’d swing by Malibu country mart for some shopping. After that we’d stop have a pizza party at Prime pizza. Leading into the next day we’d have brunch at the Ivy and explore around West Hollywood and have a quick lunch at Urth cafe then we would take a picnic dinner to the Griffith Obsevatory and catch the sunset. The following day we’d start the morning with some of the best coffee in the SFV, House Roots then we’d head over to a local flea market such as the Rose Bowl or the Melrose Flea. We’d have lunch at Monty’s and visit the Broad museum. We’d finish the day off with dinner at Elephanté. These are some of my favorite highlights and places to would share with my best friends that come to visit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This journey has come with a tremendous amount of sacrifice, the ever lasting unknowns, a global pandemic, the growing pains of learning as I go and I’m so fortunate to say that I have an angel of a partner who’s believed in me from the grassroots. When Missfit was a concept, when Missfit was a vision board of ideas, when I graduated my Esthetician program, when I moved into my first suite, when I was crazy to think that I could open a store front after a year of closures due to the pandemic and no sign of the pandemic going anywhere. This dream come true would be nothing without the endless love and support from T. This dream is as much hers as it is mine. Thank you for believing in everything, we did it.
