We had the good fortune of connecting with Leticia Piazza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leticia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My decision of started my own business appeared as an internal and personal need. I used to work for a fashion company over 7 years and in an slowly mode I started to feel that I need to be more engaged about my work, in some way it was a mode of belief about what I do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Art for me is a way of existence. I mean, everyday life is not enough or maybe is too closed about defining things. I love the idea of feeling and imaging in an abstract way, super expansive and open, where feelings has no names and emotions appeared as something new in you body.

So for me painting is a way of practice where I can find things that I didn’t know that exists. Is in contact with color and shapes that I can explore new things.
I also have a super emotional engagement with textiles, I love touch them, feel them, smell them… textiles connects me with my ancestors and my personal story.

So Franca is a mix of all these things.

It was not easy to be where I’m today, I had to deal with positions and material things. But now I feel that this project is a new lesson, I learned that going lighter can be part of being super engaged and happy about what you do everyday.

Franca is a sincere, transparent, fun and cool brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First day just to arrive Buenos Aires I would take them to the Plaza Sicilia park that has a little lake and we can go for a picnic there, with mate, of course and relax there.

Next day I would take them to Proa Museum, my favorite in the city. There we can have lunch with a drink in the terrace that has a poetical view of La Boca, there’s not once I go that I don’t get emotional 🙂 Near there we can visit an art exhibition in Munar .
At night we can go to eat to Electrica Pizza, an ex mechanical shop where make delicious pizzas with beer !

Of course I would present my closer friends and go to a party, preferably at my friend’s house. dancing mix music and drink lot of gin Tonics!

Finally I would invite them to downtown Buenos Aires to visit iconic buildings and we can go to La Giralda, an iconic porteñ0 coffee.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
yes of course! I would like to thanks to all my closer friends, who listen super patiently to my doubts and thoughts and always push me to adventure of doing what I like. They are super keys to give me fun.
Also to my boyfriend who gives me a new and interesting focus about how to think different situations. He makes me think wisely.
And finally to my mum, that structural person who is always containing everything.
