Meet Liam Samuels | Actor, model, and student!

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liam Samuels and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liam, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but raised in Thailand for the majority of my life. I’ve been fortunate enough to have grown up surrounded by so many people with different beliefs and experiences. It’s taught me and given me such grace and compassion for others and myself. I am now based back in the states for work and school but my upbringing has encouraged me to prioritize people, community, friends, and family. It has shaped me into the person I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was scouted and started modeling at the age of 16. I’ve had the privilege to walk for amazing designers when I debuted for fashion week season in New York, Milan, and London and have also have shot campaigns for Adidas, Fila, and Reebok. Since then I’ve grown into the artist I am today and have been pursuing and leaning into acting more which is where my heart and passion is. I don’t like taking myself too serious and tv/film really makes me happy and I feel most myself in that environment. I really enjoy showcasing my personality on set. I’ve learned through all of this that despite all the highs of my career and the validation of my artistic creations, I’m not defined by that. Although I’m so proud of my work and love having the title of an artist, I want to be first known as someone who is kind and intentional. I love my family. I love my friends. I love people. And lastly, I want the world to know how much I love telling stories through film. I love the creativity of film and how much we can share through it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love a day out in the city. Sleep in a little and enjoy our cozy morning with coffee before heading to get some good Thai food or ramen for an early lunch. Afterwards we’d get some more coffee or an iced matcha before we go explore the city which includes book stores, thrifting, and of course bringing our camera to take many pictures. We’d head home after to cook some dinner and enjoy a nice evening of board games and a red wine (always red). And we’d repeat everyday for the rest of the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have both personal and professional people in my life that I’d love to give a shoutout and much gratitude.
My older sister has been such a rock in my life. We’ve bared a lot individually and together and I would not be here without her unconditional love and support. I admire and look up to her in ways I can’t express through words.
And my first ever and still today agent/manager, Michael. He’s given me so many amazing opportunities in my career. I’m so humbled to have been able to travel to the places I’ve gotten to and work with wonderful talented clients. I will forever be grateful for him. He’s a hard worker and a good friend.
