We had the good fortune of connecting with Lila Westcoast and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lila, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an ~unconventional~ career because times are changing and life is too short to live everyday just to work. Working for myself gives me flexibility to live and experience everything I want.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always had an interest in astrology but after i had my first reading in 2017, I started to educate myself and pay attention. Once 2020 rolled around, it was time to make changes. Even though I didn’t know where starting a career like this would go, my passion for astrology was too strong to ignore. I studied tirelessly filling notebooks and binders of notes from books and videos. I was determined to learn as much as I could to be able to speak to it naturally and to my surprise, I learned super quickly. After feeling confident in astrology, I started to explore more ways of spiritual communication and quickly picked up tarot and oracle cards. Both are tools of divination for delivering messages for spiritual guidance which is commonly used with astrology.

In order to embrace true new beginnings after living in NY my whole life, I made the decision to pursue my new career/life in LA in the middle of the pandemic. Everyone thought I was crazy but I learned that following my gut and pursuing my dreams is more important than the opinion of others. I drove across the country alone to prove everyone wrong. It definitely wasn’t easy but usually the best things in life aren’t.

Thus, Lila Westcoast has been born and this is only the beginning.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I work A LOT but when I have friends in town the plan is always food and nature! My favorite coffee spot in the valley is Black Heart Cafe in Lake Balboa for a latte and breakfast then we gotta hike Tuna Canyon in Topanga for the canyon/ocean views. Tuna canyon always makes me hungry so we gotta eat good and the best seafood is right off the PCH at Malibu Fish & Seafood OMG. If we’re not hiking, we’re skating in venice at the skatepark!

I love hiking all over LA the views are incredible and spending time in nature is my favorite way to recharge.
Spending time at the beach, you can’t get better than that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Although this journey has been a very independent one, I could not have done it without the love and support from my husband, James. Even through tough times, he remained my biggest fan. I do everything for my family and having a strong support system at home has been everything for me.
