We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Hayslett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Linda, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The habits that I feel that have helped me to succeed are consistency, understanding other aspects of my business other than just the creative side, pushing myself, wanting to understand and learn about other vendors issues and how they work, and having a drive to want to create great spaces for people.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I see my brand as an artistic business firm. What sets LH.Designs apart from other design firms is that we are a one stop shop when it comes to design.

We’ve got a crew and team in place where we’re able to create and design plans from the conception to completion. We understand construction and are always there every step of the way. But, we don’t end at construction, we see all our projects through down to the furnishings and artwork as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some fun things I love to do with family and friends during the day when they visit LA are going hiking, such as the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, or down to the beaches such as down in Southbay or in Santa Monica/Malibu area, shopping at Century City Mall then eating lunch at the rooftop restaurant Terra in Eataly.

And depending on when I have guests visiting, I love taking them to the Rosebowl Flea Market as every time I do, they are amazed at how big it is and have so much fun!

And for night dinner spots, I’ll take my family and friends to Geoffrey’s in Malibu, The Malibu Cafe, Katsuya in Brentwood, or Il Forno in Santa Monica.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s so many people that deserve credit in my success and this story, so not to alienate anyone, my story is about friends, family, clients and communities of colleagues, that have supported me and my career. My story is for little girls who never thought they’d make it big in much of anything.
