We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Mariano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Linda, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Saving Grace is truly what my clients have called me. My business was named pretty naturally. I am a hair color specialist and stylist with over forty-three years in my industry. I have spanned over four decades of cutting edge and contemporary styles. When people say what I do is an art, I respond “it is an art, a science, a psychology and an amazing study in sociology”. I have seen so much in style and social trends. I have a long established clientele that predates the Internet and over the last 16 years many that have come to me via web searches for hair color creations and corrections. I offer my services in a private suite, inside Salon Republic. Clients love the care and comfort they receive in the privacy of my studio. I provide luxurious hair color and cutting services combined with exemplary sanitation stands. At Saving Grace Salon my guests have faith and trust in my work. My hair color correction “rescues” are very loyal. I test many products so that I can direct my clients to items that suit their needs. This includes a line of my own private label brand. Since COVID I consider myself more of a concierge service. That may now include other options for clients that may be sheltering at home. I support them with products and instructions to get through these times.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I worked in a traditional salon environment prior to opening Saving Grace Salon. One of the most amazing things about a private studio is the way I see clients instantly relax when they enter. Our conversations and consultations are one on one with no concerns about neighbors in earshot. It becomes authentic and intimate. Over the past sixteen years my business had grown to where my regular clients scheduled out for the year and I was booked months in advance. While I still have a strong base, Covid took a wrecking ball to the structure that I created. I am adapting and growing my business again. I am here to help people look and feel their best. Care and comfort and are foremost. I make people sparkle!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well some great food of course! The best Thai ANAJAK Thai in Sherman Oaks the west valley for mexican food Like LAS FUENTES LALAS in studio city or melrose for Argentine And for the best in healthy options for all Dr Andrew Weils, TRUE FOOD KITCHEN The Gentle Barn in santa Clarita a day trip to Malibu Descanso Gardens
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a Shout Out to Eric Taylor founder and CEO of Salon Republic. Salon Republic offers modern, luxurious and private studio space to over 2,000 independent beauty professionals across 20 locations in three states. Eric has been amazing in supporting the beauty industry through the pandemic shutdowns and reopening’s. His podcast THE HAIR GAME is a resource that connects with top industry pros for business and craft education. Eric is a beauty industry maverick that has helped thousands operate their own businesses for the past 17 years.
