We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, how do you think about risk?
This past year I’ve really tried to dive into taking every risk and opportunity life threw at me. I often was one to feel like I wasn’t enough or just afraid, which I’m sure everyone goes through. But reminding yourself you are worth being the best version of yourself and taking that one leap to say yes could change your life.
You are going to learn something from every risk you take in life, and taking each lesson with grace is most important part.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started doing makeup about 10 years ago, I worked at several makeup counters, and realized I just wanted to do makeup. I got a 9-5 job assuming I’d have more time for it but was proven wrong very quickly, so after I had my daughter I decided it was time I put all I have into being a Makeup Artist full time.
It’s never easy putting everything into a dream and just hoping it works. But I truly take pride in my work and how I make my clients feel. Makeup can be so intimidating at times, so I think the energy you bring to your appointments is huge. I love for it to feel like girl time, tell me all the tea, ask me any questions you want.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Juan has been my biggest supporter through building myself as a makeup artist. The time my career started to grow my daughter Joey, was about 8 months old. I was a first time mom and I was at a point where I thought I needed to just be a mom, he pushed me to go and do the things | love. Any job I am offered he immediately tells me to go, no matter the long hours or time I would be home and continues to remind me he’s her too Dad and he’s there for her too.
