We had the good fortune of connecting with Liudmila Hrynko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liudmila, why did you pursue a creative career?
I consider myself truly fortunate because I’ve managed to find not one, but two creative professions. At the age of 33, I moved to the United States, and it became necessary to change my profession. My previous career was not in demand here, so I had to start my creative journey from scratch. It was a rather challenging phase to figure out what I could do and, more importantly, what I wanted to do in my new environment! I began exploring new roles and professions to see if they suited me. This is how I discovered photography! I immediately realized that children’s photography was something incredible. I found it particularly interesting to work with little ones, and I easily connected with older kids as well. I love doing family photo sessions and capturing warm moments and bright emotions of my clients. A year later, I learned about UX Design. Now, I’m finishing my courses and truly enjoying it! In UX design, I found the perfect combination of creativity and analytical thinking. Both professions allow me to express my creativity and help people. Photography gives me the opportunity to create visual stories that inspire and delight. UX design, on the other hand, allows me to use my skills to improve user interactions with products, making them more intuitive and enjoyable. In both cases, I strive to create something meaningful and useful that leaves a positive impression and makes the world a little better.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It you ask me about my journey in photography, I realized that it’s important not to be afraid, to take some risks, and to create! In the beginning, it was very scary to propose my ideas, and it seemed like no one would understand them, but I found out that there are so many wonderful and interesting people around who are ready to help and support me. Although I primarily consider myself a family and children’s photographer, I would love to experiment in other directions, for example wildlife photography which is absolutely fascinating too. When photographing bears or bison, I hold my breath in awe! As for my journey in UX design, it’s too early to say because I have yet to discover the possible challenges that this occupation could give me.
I realize that it involves continuous learning and development. I believe that the key skills for UX design are to be able to communicate with people, ask the right questions and listen carefully.
I feel the significance of what I do!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I’m a board game nerd and a big fan of escape rooms, we would definitely go do some escape rooms and do puzzle solving! It’s so much fun! If we decide to watch a movie, then definitely in Rooftop Cinema with hot tea, a blanket, and a starry sky… there’s a certain romantic vibe to it!
Mr Brainwash Art Museum is an awesome place! Brilliant and masterfully curated in every detail!
And, of course, we will definitely visit Griffith Observatory! This place is absolutely scenic. Inside we can view, listen to free guided tours, or just walk around.
I’m sure we’ll have great memories with such an itinerary!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am incredibly grateful to my family, my husband, and my daughter for their care. They are the ones who are always ready for any creative photo shoot! They also support me in my hobby (wildlife photography) and are willing to travel to the most remote corners of the country so that I can capture the beauty of nature and take pictures of animals. This means a lot to me! I love them and I deeply appreciate their support!
